I'm trying to make an IL-2 1946 movie / video.
The game seems to be configured correctly.
As long as I'm just playing the game or watching a track file everything is smooth.
As soon as I turn on Fraps it starts to hiccup, fraps may be refreshing I don't know, but it is unacceptable.
I am capturing at 30 fps and the game resolution is 1920 X 1080 - 1080p.
Can anyone please shed some light on this problem for me.
Thanks 52Zebra AKA Darryl

What type of drive do you use as a recording work space of Fraps?

That seems transfer speed lack of writing out the movie on the drive.
1920x1080/30fps movie needs high speed transfer of the drive.
I think 7200rpm HDD single drive without fragmentation , not C: system drive is necessary as a Minimum.
RAID0 twin drives of 7200rpm HDD or high speed SSD are better.

Or... CPU performance.
In the time of Fraps capturing, CPU has 2 tasks .... one is playing IL-2 1946, another is encoding the movie capturing by the codec to conserve transfer speed.
You may watch the CPU load giving-up in capturing or afford by Task-manager graph or other monitoring tools.

Are you trying to record with FRAPS while playing the game or from prerecorded tracks?
I ask this because I have the same Intel CPU you have, and I experience this problem whenever I try to record while playing. No problem when I record from tracks.
Seems that input data during game playing makes all the difference...

Another thing I can remember about problems with FRAPS recording in the past concerns to the version of the software and its relation with the OS.
Sometimes subtle changes in softwares intended to optimize them to the most recent OS can make a mess if you're using a previous one!
In this sense, maybe you could try an older FRAPS version...
You can find these versions here
http://filehippo.com/download_fraps/changelog/13175/
Check the Change Log of some older version to see if it is more fit.

Thanks for posting your videos, nice job .

I found a better ( in my opinion ) capture software than fraps.
It's about the same price.
I switched over to it and haven't had any problems with it.
I went back and re-captured the scenes from my movie I was having trouble with.
Check it out.

I started out with the intention of making it a 15 minute short but it is shaping up to be a little over an hour.
I have some green screen stuff in it. The girls are flying the Thunderbolts and I have a couple of P-63's , P-61's P-38,s and A-26's.
The Enemy side has FW-190's BF-110's , JU-87's and FW-200.
I have a question about the A-26-B I did my own re-paint but I can't find where the wheel hubs are . I want to make them dull silver not black can anybody show me how to do that ?
Thanks

Here's a clip from my Tank Busters movie. The flight of P-47-N 22's are returning to base after pounding the enemy marshalling yard at Creil, on the route de Vaux.
A lone FW-200 caring Field Marshal Baron Von Zutter is caught with their pants down, so to speak, and destroyed.
