Looking forward to this Tom. I always keep a 4.09 install, and play it often with a few of my favourite old mods, including a 'lite' version of Tiger's UV2 Flybys.  :)

... OK, Tom, well in fact it never was Tiger's intention to spend too much modding time on jets sounds, I am not going to tell you what he does for a living, but it's rather to do with piston engines than turbines ...  :P

Well Mick, IMHO Tiger made a really superb environment as for engines and flybys, no matter which version, I liked them all.
Top quality sounds. The good part is with a Mods and Files folder setup, you can easily choose your own option and even delete or replace a file.
I hope I can upload the pack until the end of June. And verify the changes do not corrupt the jet era mods...there will be some bugs, e.g. the buttons file (no major bug IMHO) allows for jammed flaps where in RL the flaps would not jam as far as I know and the hydraulics code for gear doors (seems to be/) is missing. As well as the slow speed "egg style " Sabre handling of course cannot be modelled in IL-2 as it would need an airframe calculation, like Mr. greybeard explained to me.

IL-2 is for props, the rest is pure luck, in this case indeed. :P

Hey mr. Tom, glad to see some interest in this little cutie pie of an airplane. If I may add a couple of thoughts:
Mr. Jeronimo did a nice job with the smoother blister, but the main cockpit frame consists of 10 lines, and looks bad compared to modified glass, it could use some smoothness too...

Also, there is that front fixed canopy part with oversized glass panels, it makes the whole canopy look out of proportion IMO...

Well, IMHO these are minor issues compared to FMs and pits, but yes. But do not take PA_Jeronimo's action here for granted, he was kind enough to provide a model for the mirror and a blister. There is no obligation for him to do anything more at all. His area area are mainly WWII props after all I know.

I pm'd him some thoughts already and will not press to him, after all he did for me alone and for the community in large.
BTW the shot on the left is a F-86A type canopy and front section, the cockpits are F-86E/F/Avon/Canadair later types with the curved front glass and less thickness, a totally different front design. :D

ATM my biggest dream would be the FMs closer to the real deal (not doable in IL-2 fully correct) and the HistoMod hydraulics code for the gear. :P

The sideview of the canopy is pretty much great already. :P
BTW before further talk I will finish my part and ask Jero again for permission to post HIS blister as part of this mod, AFAIK the good man has not even released it. Sort of wagging the dog's tail here.  ;) ..my bad, always fast and two things at the same time.

PS I have ca 1000 Sabre references, the only thing that blister needs is some smoothing on the front part and the F-86F shape. :)

PS: If you go for the F-86A shape, yes, the size is a tad wrong, but TBH, also a 2nd priority. A one version only front canopy is highly tolerable here for the time.  :P (In other words I cannot do it better because I can only fiddle with hier.him a bit..)
As long as the cockpit does not have comic alike dimensions like IMO in another sim...I am almost set. Do not forget that model was created 5-6 years ago and somehow Peter D. managed to catch the overall shape of the Sabre very fine despite low poly nowadays. :P
I take an 80% perfect Sabre over a science fiction FBW jet anyday as long as the pit is accurate minus some parts like the inner front glass shape nit picked and the canopy markings for bomb aim etc. Not even DCS has a tinted center glass, another very trademark Sabre feature.

Jeronimo did a great job smoothening the canopy! This are just my thoughts on the model, and you are right, they 2nd priority... She still holds up even after 6 years. This is what I meant for the front part of the canopy (fixed part)...

The side glass part is too big, maybe adding some material could bring it to proportion... As for front shield, it would be great if there were two versions, of course... DCS model still has that difference between inner cockpit and outside cokpit front shield frames, right?

DCS...well, I am not going into that here, apart of what I think about DCS and why I still prefer (atm) IL-2 our sim is survey at best and the other one a sim. :P
Rest..All valid points, but not priority unless a kind soul intends to do them.

The mod is basically ready and I will today start and modify the release thread step by step. :)
Big thanks to
PA_Jeronimo (blister mesh and mirror)
lebig from HistoMod (giving the idea what to do with the mirror)
SAS~Epervier (WIP hydraulics code)
Freddy of course for the cockpit
and so on... ;)
