Just reporting since I saw that yesterday:
The "Low Fuel Pressure" warning light to the upper left of the panel seems to rather indicate "Low Fuel Level" to me.

Best regards - Mike

Hi Mike,

I did not pay attention to this lately in either SAS MA 5.3 or UP 2.01, usually I land before I get out of fuel or have fuel trouble of any kind aka fuel pressure issues...but that gauge as far as I recall always related to fuel amount, I am not even sure fuel pressure is modelled on these planes. In our modded IL-2 versions.

Other than that if the 4.12 Sabres had less ridiculous airframe break and G onset limits I would fly them.
 :P

What the UP 2.01 Sabres clearly lack is lateral and horizontal instability on lower speeds...not modelled at all in any modpack, and a bugfree elevator response between ca. 300 and 420 knots. Typical old Jet incremental pitch change of motion at these speeds. Very prominent in DBW/UP3 as well. :P
But so what, we take what we have and fly it into the next best air carnage. :P

Hi guys, despite being in (health) trouble ;) in RL, a little thing I had planned...flying Sabres only in 4.09m UP2 and (tbh only these weeks) additionally in IES3.1, I changed the cockpit dimensions to a more real canopy shape in both versions....this I plan for UP2.01 aka 4.09m:

Before...(Mirror as well changed)

After, 2 body mesh presets

Well. The FM still lacks, in 4.09m, the Sabres have the dreadful 290 to 410 knots elevator gap movement bug also present in 4.10, plus the roll speed above 300 knts up to ca 550 Knots needs to be rather 2 sec. per 360 and not 3.

After checking ca. 2 dozen or 4 dozen videos I can say that clearly, same² info I got from a reallife Sabre driver!

Cheers

T

²not same but similar. :-[ ;) Common perception of Sabre roll rates among armchair pilots seems to be 2 seconds per 360 degrees. Up to 1000 km/h.

As for amount of G in UP 2.01 and stock FMs, that is ok, top average was around 7(.5) Gs, nothing of 3-4Gs btw.

The only person on this planet I accept to destroy my "research" is a gentleman named R.M., he knows who he is. :P

For those with interest, here the Freddy Sabre pit with the new canopy framing and mirror relations..:
https://www.mediafire.com/file/zf11j76x2abb3p4/Freddy_Cockpits_Sabres_HSFX_UPnewframeratio.rar

Let be a few backup tgas from BEta time and the old Body mesh file.

So far only the black pit version, you can simply pull the F-86.him and the body.mesh file and insert in your previous Sabre folder as well.

Cheers

Thorsten

Edit:
This mod changes the default F-86 canopy default POV front thickness and the mirror size to something more close to the real Sabre cockpit ratios.
And adds a 2nd POV slightly raised. Thanks to greybeard for the idea of the body mesh changes. Basically now the relation is like usually seen on my screen when zoomed in via 6DOF mouse mod PLUS the entire cockpit was reshaped on the hier.him-.
