Sidi Ifni: The Forgotten War 1957-58
« on: June 27, 2015, 03:13:52 AM »

I was lucky to be invited by the Patrulla Azul to participate in this beautiful campaign and could fly some of the last missions.
It was run with HSFX and some extra technics and recorded using the Shadow Play and edited with the Movie Maker.  :P

It was great to use this beautiful map and some of the crates such as the AT6 Texan and the Buchon.

Finally, check out the Redeye Jir Spanish maps when we fly over Sevilla. Amazing maps with personalized cities!!!

I recorded these videos and made them public just to thank all the people who created the campaign, skins, screenshots, mods, maps, etc and to show how this game is more alive than ever!  :-* There were pilots from many different squadron from the Spanish community: PA, Ala13, E69, ESA and =gRiJ=.

Wow, someone uses my map mod of agracier and Uufflakke's Sidi Ifni -- love all versions of Sidi Ifni.

Plus I am fascinated by Morrocco anyway. :P
Nice videos, sound a bit post modern at times.  :D
But cool. 8)

My grandfather was a CASA 2111 radio operator and bombardier in the Sidi Ifni war. I am very proud to say that my grandfather was part of the conflict as he was one of the crews chosen to fight. He would do mostly reconnaissance flights.

Just would like to share this.

Here is a map: https://cybergeo.revues.org/docannexe/image/23461/img-1-small580.png

The war was pretty embarrassing for Spain as they lost a lot of their territory and were really only left with the N. Tip of Morocco (now the Ceuta and Melilla protectorate territories) as well as Western Sahara, which was relinquished in 1975.

PS say hello to the people at Patrulla Azul, if they remember me , lol

Draken. I didn't do anything. It just works as in the rest of the games and with Movie Maker the same thing. I just open the file and start adding and editing.
I didn't have to do any special trick at all. They are compatible with Il2 in my case.

HotelAlpha, thanks for sharing the story. I can only imagine your pride of having a relative participating in real life in one of the Il2 recreations.
If you have more pics, please share them. They will have a high historical value.
The Patrulla Azul and the rest of the Spanish squadrons, =gRiJ= in my case, are aviation history fans, as most of the community I guess.
