Nakajima Ki-43-II Early production model
« on: July 01, 2015, 12:40:58 AM »

Hayabusa II appeared in late 1942 in an initial version, sort of transition between previous Ki-43-I and definite model two. Distinctive features of this very early model were retaining of Mk.I wing (span 11.437 m; area 22.000 sq.m) as well as of circular oil cooler.

Also featuring single drop tank in asymmetric configuration:

Unzip into MODS, #DBW, #UP# or other dedicated mod folder.

Requires Diff_FM! For 4.09 users copy and paste the FM file from "-4.09 FM" to main mod folder.

UV2 users please see reply #11 (bottom of this page) to grab right FM for you!

Optional: alternative loadout with more correct Ho-103 machineguns (instead of generic "Browning_50jap") is provided.
Again, copy from "- alternative machineguns" and paste into main folder.

You're welcome!

As a post scriptum to my previous message, I would like also highlighting the genuine hardpoints inboard of undercarriage with direct attachments to wing points (no racks or carriers), as shown in following period photo:

A note for skinners:

details numbered 1,2 and 4 are mandatory to avoid black annular and auxiliary oil radiators. Numbers 3 and 5 (respectively headrest and pitot tube) are strongly recommended for same reason.

Cheers,
GB

EDIT: please note that wingtips must be properly rounded and extended, like in the above picture. Following example, although provided of radiator details, does not fit to wingtips, as shown at bottom:

I tested it only on a few missions but it seems that the new Ki-43 works quite smoothly in my C.U.P
Thank you very much!
Best regards,

Thanks, Barney, for your appreciation; this plane fills a gap about Oscar, actual war horse of Imperial Japanese Army Air Force.

Piotrek, thanks for feedback: good to know it works also in CUP!

Cheers,

Works well in V 4.12.2m + SAS Modact 5.30

Thanks for feedback!

Since there are now two witnesses evidencing working in two different 4.12 environments, I added relevant label to the topic.

I would like to add to previous info, that this plane is provided of WEP, according to official Nakajima documents:

so don't forget to hit "W" key when necessary.

Top speed is 515 km/h at 6000 m, as historical.

Have fun!
