Here is how I did mine.
1. Install IL-2 in a folder that you choose and you name that is not inside "programs file" Mine is on an entirely different drive, G: drive and the folder is simply named "IL-2 1946 Clean". I will explain the clean a bit later.
2. Once the game is installed - bring it up to 4.12.2 standards. In one of your previous posts you said that you did have to that standard so no need to explain how.
3. Test your game. If it starts, great, exit. Now create a second folder in the same directory as your IL-2 and NOT AS A SUBFOLDER of your "IL-2 1946 Clean" and name it "Il-2 CUP" or what you will like to call it as this will be the folder we will install CUP into. You should now have 2 folders next to each other, one called "IL-2 1946 Clean" and the other "IL-2 CUP."
4. Now go to your IL-2 1946 Clean folder, highlight and select everything in it. Select Copy, then move to your IL-2 CUP folder and open it. Past the entire contents of your IL-2 1946 Clean folder into your IL-2 CUP folder. You should now have to copies of IL-2 1946 on your computer.
5. The idea behind having a folder called IL-2 1946 Clean is that from this point on, you do not use it for anything except as a backup in case problems with your IL-2 CUP install occurs. If that takes place and you need to start over, simply repeat step 4 but ensure your CUP folder is completely empty.
6. Test your IL-2 CUP game, ensure it starts.
7. Now create a separate folder for your CUP downloads. Call it "CUP Downloads" but ensure it is not inside one of the game folders. It remains outside. Inside this folder create subfolders for the modules you want but you must have module 1, which I know you have. Also inside the CUP Downloads folder, ensure you put your SAS Modact 5.30 install file.
8. Once that is all done and working from inside your CUP Downloads folder, 1st select and launch your SAS Modact 5.30 install file and direct it your IL-2 CUP game folder.
9. Check your IL-2 CUP game folder, ensure that Modact is in the root directory. The file name is "IL-2 Selector.exe." Double-click this file and Modact should open. Chick on "change settings" and you will see a pull down menu with several different IL-2. Select "SAS Modact" then "Save Settings." Modact will return to the previous start box. Select "Start IL-2 now" and allow the game to launch. This is to ensure Modact has been installed correctly. When your game launches, simply exit and we are ready to begin installing CUP.
10. Starting with Module 1 Maps, go to your CUP Downloads folder, then subfolder Module 1. In numerical order, simply double-click on MME01 and your zip file manager should open. If not, you will need to download one. Many here recommend "7zip" it is easy and free. Within your zip manager, the contents of MME01 file will appear - DO NOTHING WITH THE CONTENTS SHOWN. Simply press the "Extract" button at the top of your zip manager. This will extract everything that is within MME01 to the destination you choose. Once you hit your extract button you will be shown a destination for the files which in most cases is the same as where your MME01 is. YOU DO NOT WANT TO EXTRACT IT HERE. Using the browse option, select your "IL-2 CUP" folder. Once you select your "IL-2 CUP" folder, press OK to extract the contents of MME01 into your game folder. Repeat in numerical order all of Module 1. Each time, select your "IL-2 CUP" folder for the contents of each MME file. Each time you do this, you will be asked if you want to overwrite existing contents of your "IL-2 CUP" folder. Answer YES.
11. Now do the same extracting method for the module(s) you want to play.
12. Once it is all in, go to your "IL-2 CUP" click on "IL-2 Selector.exe" and select your module you want to fly. I believe you said you want to fly "The Jet Age." Click save settings and then "Start IL-2 Now"
If your install is correct, start flying.
I hope these instructions do not insult your knowledge of compressed files and the like. We all have made mistakes as we are excited about getting to fly as soon as we can.
