Which Hawk 75/P-36?
« on: July 15, 2015, 08:25:27 AM »

Hi guys!

I'm updating a campaign where player's plane is currently the P-36A-3 as featured by original UP2.01. It is armed with 2 x .50 cal Browning MG (in the nose) with 200 r.p.g and 4 x .30 cal Browning MG (in the wings) with 500 r.p.g. With current "buttons" for 4.09 it is provided with lockable tailwheel. Weight at take-off is 2748 kg and top speed 421 km/h at 0 m and 519 km/h at 4650 m.

Epervier very kindly provided us of set picked from 4.12. This one has a more historical Hawk 75A-3, armed by default with 6x 7.7mm machine guns, and still a P-36A-3, armed with 1x 12.7mm + 1x 7.7mm. All do not have lockable tailwheel (not quite historical, since it did have limited swiveling range and an adjustable friction, according to its manual, to prevent shimmy). Hawk 75A-3 should reach 440 km/h at 0 m and 490 km/h at 3000 m, weighing 3049 kg at T.O. I think its flight model is shared with the new P-36A-3.

Hamlet-like dilemma :) : given that I'm not sure of historical correctness of neither of the two, the choice is between forcing the install and use by player of the new Hawks, or leave the current P-36A-3, which for who has installed the new set, will become automatically the new, under armed, American variant.

Sorry for the disturb, gentlemen, I just would try to give you more enjoyment, while helped to make best choice. :-\

Already using Maurice's fine Mod, as for the Burma Campaigns I flew, the new FM
is splendid. Same at Hawk 75A-3, a pleasure to fly.
