Some are still flying today (even operated by charter companies) and are well sought after...

It was also popular in movies due to its unique look, there is a website listing all its appearance, it's called "republic seabee in movies" (of course) and it's worth a visit http://www.seabee.info/seabee_movies.htm

Benno is correct. It is the Helwan HA-300.
It was designed by the famous German aircraft designer Willy Messerschmidt and developed in Egypt during the 1960s.
