Please, may I humbly ask for a 4.101 /SAS ModAct 3.06 compatible (non DBW1916) version?

Thank you in advance...

Hi all, I was about to skin this thing, and was doing some searching and photo browsing for inspiration.

I notice that while many of the photos show the D.I looking exactly like our version with the small tail. MANY show it with a much larger tail like those fitted to the Phonix D.I. At first I assumed these were the later Phonix D.I mistaken for the Hansa-Brandenburg D.I. However closer looking revealed the "spider" struts and squared off wings of the earlier aircraft so I have questions!

Examples:

Small tail:

Large Tail:

Are these "Phonix Tailed" D.Is the same early D.Is, perhaps modified with the more effective tail once the Phonix D.I was introduced?

OR, as I am more inclined to suspect, is this perhaps the Phonix built run of Hansa-B. D.Is that served alongside the German built run?

It seems to me that this relatively noticeable difference would be addressed somewhere, but in every article, page, photo, etc. that I can find, the only difference mentioned between the German and Phonix built H-B D.Is is the choice of engine and its respective power rating.

Any Ideas?

The extension on the tail was actually a "field mod", developed by ace pilot Julius Arigi, who flew the Brandenburg D.I.

His personal modification was then analysed and copied from his plane and integrated into mass production by Ufag and Phoenix

PS: the top picture shows a Brandenburg built prototype most likely. It also has German markings. Austrian birds did not carry the cross on the fuselage, that was strictly German marking style, seen on Austrian machines only when the paintjob was done in Germany, like on their Fokker E types. The lower bird is definitely an Austrian machine. This is a Phoenix 28 series with the 160PS engine, all the aces only scored high on that version, not on the later 185PS Ufag series 65, which probably had disadvantages.
