... 1 means the aircraft belongs to the red camp (Allies) :RAF, USAF etc ...

... 2 means the aircraft belongs to the blue camp (Axis) : Luftwaffe , Regia Aeronautica, French Vichy, Japanese air force etc ...

... so if you give the RO-43 a 1, any Axis aircraft, or ship or artillery or tank, that is close to it, will open fire and try to destroy it ...  :-[

The same goes for the air.ini ...  ;)

Example :

: Air ini

FW-190A-4Trop     air.FW_190A4_Trop 2                g01   SUMMER

The FW-190 is a German aircraft, so it must get a 2 ...

:)  Hey Pete! You don't have to apologize, Any job done alone is susceptible to a margin of error of ten to fifteen percent depending on the complexity and even the most scrupulous of professionals will confess to you that only an outsider is able to catch the inevitable errors. So that's what we're here for! To help each other! ;)

Hi Pete
Would like to take you up on your earlier offer to add an SSP for the stock C-47 in the #DT_DC-3_Family pack? Would be very beholding if you could.  :)

The same goes for the air.ini ...  ;)

This is a bit of a simplified misleading nonsense.

You can set any plane (or vehicle, ship, tank...) to any side in any mission by yourself.

This value is just a "preset", meaning, it comes up in the object selector as red or blue, but you can switch that to whatever side you want.
In the reality of mission building this preset does not matter all that much other than neat list keeping.

Hello dona, this has now been added into to the first page, I also included the L2D as that now has new geometry and the Li-2 that is the original stock aircraft in most versions of the sim.  ;)

I hope this does not cause confusion, everyone please check the version you intend to use depending on which version of the sim you are currently running and what you have installed.

C_47:

L2D:

LI_2

... so if you give the RO-43 a 1, any Axis aircraft, or ship or artillery or tank, that is close to it, will open fire and try to destroy it ...  :-[

... yep, this is true, but then it means that in the FMB, when you are laying static objects of all sorts on a map, you need to change the "colour" of a wrongly named object, and if you forget to do so, then for ex your static Ro-43 will be shot at by any blue (German, Italian, Japane etc ...) that is close enough to open fire ...  :-X

By principle, why give an object an incorrect name that has consequences, when it is so easy to name it correctly ...?  o_O
