I don't think I'm seeing this in my UP 3.4 Hotfix 17 installation.  Here's a Ta-152C (1945) model flying over Kuban as an example.

Hello dadalo, hi ssn,

there are no problems with the Ta-152 spinners in the #UP3.4 CASSIE.  ;)

Thanks for confirmation, I'll check my installation.

Edit: I reinstalled Hotfix 17 nd problem solved.

When starting UP 3.4 updated with the latest patch, I receive this notice.
The procedure entry point GetThreadErrorMode cannot be found in the dynamic link library KERNELL32.dll.
Accepting the notice I enter the game with apparent normality.
Notable problems that I have encountered are:
On the runway some planes like the Miles Magister, Tiger Moth
and several more in IA mode, when starting the engine it begins to jump, losing the correct takeoff position.
I have observed more errors, but since I don't know if the problem comes from that problematic start, I will reserve them for now.

Ah, you're still on XP? Time to move on man, it's more than 9 years now that XP is not supported anymore.
Please let us know what else you've seen, thanks.

I'll send Mick some Ntracks to link to in the forum. I cannot do it directly due to incompatibility with certain websites.
I think the images will be more descriptive.
On the other hand, I think that if the whole problem revolves around my basic installation, I don't know if it's worth continuing trying to solve specific cases.

I don't think there's anything wrong with you basic installation.
Having checked twice for XP compatibility (which has once been a complaint by wxtech and should have been covered since) I think I found a possible culprit:
Do you by chance happen to have IL2GE ("Graphics Extender") installed/activated?
Because it seems like that's the only library that refers to non-XP DLLs. At least I failed to identify any other library having references to "GetThreadErrorMode".
Long story short, please try to disable IL2GE (renaming the folder "il2ge" to e.g. "-il2ge" should do the trick for testing purpose).

I would like at least to have tried it, but at the time I was not able to make it work.
All the observations have been made without any type of addition on my part, no mod.
There is a detail that I have omitted, while I was installing 3.4 on top of my old UP3, the computer got stuck in the installation of part 5, I had to reboot and start again.
A detail about the jumps of the AI on takeoff. In manual mode the same thing happens to me if I start the engine at 0% power. If I start it at 2%, there are no jumps, of course the AI doesn't know how to do that.

Let's try to get one thing sorted after the other.
First, let's focus on that "GetThreadErrorMode" error because this is not supposed to happen.
May I ask you to do the following:

  • Open a command prompt in your IL-2 folder.
The easiest way to do this is to double-click the "cmd.exe" which should be present in your IL-2 game folder.
If you can't find it, please download the attached zip from this post and extract the "cmd.exe" from the zip to your IL-2 game folder.
  • Enter the following command, wait for it to finish and note the output (note that quite likely there isn't any output and you will just see the blinking cursor prompt after a while again):
    findstr /M /S "GetThreadErrorMode" *.exe /s
  • Enter the following command, wait for it to finish and note the output (note the subtle difference - dll instead of exe):
    findstr /M /S "GetThreadErrorMode" *.dll /s
  • Reply to this thread with the output you got
