Btw, I tried to join Mymap_c files for western and eastern part.  Unfortunately, java pgm for conversion into Il-2 files refuses to work on such large file - 784 x 652.8 km,  at least at my PC.

As far as I have been able to work out, 720 km is pretty much the maximum map length/width that Il-2 can handle.

Cheers.

Many thanks for confirmation of my experience. There is , however, LaChute map which exceeds these limits , at least the width. I am curious how the author reached this .

Nice project! Can't wait for the release, perhaps some Yugoslavia wars situations with concrete runways, and even opportunity for Zeljava, obsiously not underground  ;)

Hi, folks,
would you be so kind and help me to solve the problem in creating large map.
The LACHUTE map  has Mymap_c.tga file 21344 x 11104 pixels large (231450 kB), and , obviously, was converted  successfully  into Il-2 files map_c.tga and map_c.tga_table .
I tried to do it so with joined Yugoslavia_East and Yugoslavia_West map, namely with my joint Mymap_c.tga file 15680 x 13056 pixels large (199621 kB), and the java program map_c tools refused to work.
According to the post of 242Sqn_Cat  here,

https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,48775.24.html
(reply 26)

the largest Mymap_c.tga file which can be converted, is about 720 km  in either x or y direction. Both my and LACHUTE maps exceed these limits, but the creator of LACHUTE map was successful in creating necessary files.
Have anybody any special solution of this problem, please ?
Best regards,
Ivan Uzin

EDIT:
Here is the merror report when using map_c tools :

Progress report and a question.
Both parts of Yugoslavia map successfully joined into one , covering from Balaton to Bari, amd from Trieste to Arad, the map was autopopulated using the former templates, actors.static is now about 3.9 MB, what I consider quite acceptable.
There is, however, a question of making suitable object for Mostar Old bridge, the very important landsmark, see picture below.
Is here any skilled object creator, please ?

Thank you for the efforts on this amazing project mr. Uzin! It will be awesome to fly over home turf!

Hey mr. Alaska Man! It would be awesome to have a Jet war version of the map! Many types of planes flew over former Yugoslavia from 1941-1999, and we have a lot of them already. Zeljava sounds great!
