Larger/More Varied port segments
« on: October 21, 2015, 11:43:58 PM »

Is there a mod out there(or if there's not is it possible could make it) that has larger or more varied segments of docks and quaysides? I ask as it quickly becomes a maddening an tedious task placing each individual piece of port segment to construct a large port complex in FMB.

This does not qualify as a valid request and will be removed soon if it's not becoming modified according to the request guidelines.

how would I go about making request for things other than planes or vehicles meet the guidelines? I would also like to apologize for any headaches I have caused to the Mods and Admins due to my idiocy.

Maybe I can help you a bit..

First of all:
I ask as it quickly becomes a maddening an tedious task placing each individual piece of port segment to construct a large port complex in FMB.
Welcome to Missionbuilding ;)

The fastest way I know to build large constructs out of small objects is to make a segment out of them and use FMBs copy-paste:
hold ALT-key; mark objects by dragging the mouse over them; right mouse -> copy; right mouse -> paste em!
Should be faster than placing single objects in any case...

Best Regards,

WWII44;
I'll second Skylla's comment.   It's one of those little gem commands in FMB that not a lot of people are aware of.  I've been playing IL2 for years and yet only recently took advantage of the procedure Skylla describes.

That being said I think having a "ready made" port object is not a bad idea.  I've done some objects for the community myself so when I get a chance I'll look into creating something like this.

Some dock side features like cranes and the like would also be a nice addition as there is a complete lack of them in the list of FMB objects.

WWII;
there are a couple of crane objects (large and not so large) in the Objects.  For what it's worth I created some cargo net objects awhile ago that could be "hung" from those cranes.
