This is just so different a plane, obscure and odd looking, but so great.

You have to admit, in what other game would you ever find this plane? One of the reasons why Il-2 is the best WWII flight sim despite its age.

Wonderful addition.

Thank you very much for this one- I can finally stop using the Soviet DB3-M as a standin!
The earlier version with the separate canopies for pilot and rear gunner was used as the WH-1 and WH-2 by the ML. Initially used for second-line duties at the start of the war in the Far East, as losses of the WH3s mounted they were pressed into front-line service to plug the gaps.

I just installed the pack and gave the WH-3 a quick spin, and have a few coments (if I may). The WH-1 and WH-2 were model 139s, not 133s, and the WH-3 and 3A were model 166s. Is this easy to correct? If so I can do it myself.
The main bomb loads for the Dutch WHs were 2 x 500 kg, 3 x 300 kg or 9 x 100kg bombs. 3 x 300 kg was the usual load against most targets (usually shipping).
When switching to the various crew positions in the WH-3, the bottom half of the bottom gunner's position is black. Is this a known bug?

Bombs used were:

interwar Mark series for the US planes, 100, 300 600lbs and 1100lbs (similar to the ones in the pack 0_WW1Bombs_American)

For the Dutch: vliegtuigbommen 50kg No1, 50kg No2, 100kg No1 100kg No2 200kg No1 200kg No2 300kg No1 300kg No2 (most probably the Marine series of these bombs, as usual in the Eastern Indies), and possibly DT-2 50, 100kg and 200kg (all found in the pack _Arms_Dutch)

For the Chinese: French DT-2 50kg, 100kg and 200kg (found in the pack _Arms_France_Interwar) , and Italian 100 and 250kg bombs (found in the pack _Arms_Italy) and a local designed and produced 250kg bomb of quite advanced design, which is still rather mysterious.

For the Argentinian: Bofors bombs 50kg M31 and 100kg M30 (found in the pack _Arms_Finland)

For the Thai: bomb load reported as being 10x 250lbs bombs (need to be cautious with this info)

Bombsight were the Estoppey (a vector bombsight) and the Goetz type R (quite similar to the new bombsight of the Pe8 in 413). Although the USAAC used the B-10 to evaluate precision bombing tactics with the new Norden bombsight, these were not used on operational aircraft.

Beyond the bombs in bomb bay, one bomb (in practice up to 300kg in addition to the bomb bay load) could be loaded on an external pylon under the starboard wing only.
Initially on the US aircraft, the internal bomb bay of the US aircraft could carry two 1100lbs bombs or five 300lbs bombs. There were provisions for an external shackle under the right wing for a single 2000 pound bomb (instead of the bombs in bomb bay).
The Bombload was up to 1000kg for the Dutch and Chinese models (exactly 2260 lbs. - 1030kg)

This is a TRULY wonderful addition to this game. I love it.  ;D

I am now building a single mission for Gio's gem, strictly historical, portraying the most epic operation this aircraft was ever involved in: the long-range trans-oceanic raid on Japan on May 19/20 1938, by two B-20's from the Chinese airforce. The bombers reached Kyushu, but without bombs, only unleashing propaganda leaflets on several Japanese cities (including Nagasaki), in order to make the Japanese populace aware of what was going on in China and, by way of a wonderfully naive hope, thus making them so scared of being bombed themselves that they would press for a political settlement.

More on this remarkable operation here: http://www.warbirdforum.com/elusive.htm

I hope to post this mission in a couple of days.

Again: a BIG thank you to Gio!!!

The historical mission for this remarkable aircraft (mentioned above), where you get to fly the first true trans-oceanic bomber raid in history, has now been completed.

You can download it here: http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads3&file=details&id=2267

Good luck finding Nagasaki in the dead of night!  ;)
