you cannot disable it

Thanks for reply. For those of us who fly with minimal or no text, it's a little more bearable with a smaller font adjustment:

font/arialb12.font

The same font is used for mission briefings so any size/transparency adjustment affects that also.

Every font .mat is based on default.mat, but you can also give each font it's own personalized .mat, and
add a ColorScale value for transparency:

For example, arialb12.mat (arialb12.font was changed from arialbd.ttf to arial.ttf):

[ClassInfo]
  ClassName TMaterial
[Layer0]
  TextureName default.tga
  ColorScale 1.0 1.0 1.0 0.5
  tfWrapX    1
  tfWrapY    1
  tfModulate 1
  tfBlend 1
  tfNoWriteZ 1
  tfTestA    1
  AlphaTestVal 0

This will make the onscreen text semi-transparent.

I can live with this..  ;)

For anyone who needs the fonts, they are in PAL Visual Mod and a few other font mods here.

Keep practicing those landings!

Flight models are always a very difficult compromise and Il2's original code never envisaged taking it this far!

This Phantom II flight model feels really good and the F4 has so many great functions and weapons too.  Many thanks for your work Vega, great job in taking this bird to another level!

You are fast becoming our go-to guy for Jet Age FM's, fixes and upgrades.

Gotta get this one into the next CUP - The Jet Age Upgrade (Pt-09)...

Anyone else have this problem? When I try to run a quick mission in 4.13 with an f-4 selected I get "Mission Loading Failed: null". Let me know if I need to post logs. :)

Did installing the f-8 fix the f-4 or no?

Flyingfish: Please provide a logfile excerpt for Western and Vega to help them. ;) I assume 4.13 is not the best environment for this mod, I would suggest playing on 4.12, as this is the most supported version these days.

A little thing I noticed, will need to provide a logfile as well next time:
The AI tends to crash on takeoff.

That, however, will be depedning on maps so I observe this on a default map like Kuban today. Or Crimea Scramble.
 ;)
Cheers
