i'll do a little rust, a bit less than it has now, as it wouldn't've had much rust when it was active, i'm sure.
making good progress, just juggling several projects at once, as well  as doing some 3d fixes in my install, but i'm still on it ... ;)
oh - almost forgot - i'm doing it in HD (2048) size atm, so i can get a lot more detail in - let me know if that's a problem, but then again it's easy enough to size it back down when i'm done.
for my own purposes, i'm going the HD route for now :D

That should be fine. If I ever get the time I will figure out how to fix the catapult function and make sure there aren't any conflictions with the skins.

lol, i'm making good progress - was going to post up a screenie, but photobucket is down for maintenance right now.
good luck with the catapult - after this skin i'm washing my hands of this plane.
most of it is done, but due to me having to update the darned plane twice now over the last two days in an attempt to get it working properly, i've had to re-do the floats yet again.
so, my first template, which had the 'wrong' floats, i then fixed up, and after an hour or two on that, the update undid all that work and i had to do the floats over again - another couple of hours down the toilet.
then, another update today, and lo and behold, i have to do them over again.  :(
this time, in effect, to do them as i had done them originally - so that's been a bit of a wasted exercise.
best of all, i have no idea which version you're using, and the way things have been going lately, the floats i end up doing will probably be wrong for your version, lol.
anyway, we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.
the fuselage is basically done, but for some finer details. wings still need a bit of work,.
floats need to be done from scratch, as i said - for the 3rd, and hopefully last, time.
work continues... will post up a pic once photobucket comes back online. ;)

What a pain! I have no idea what version of the Kingfisher or catapult I have, so I'll just go up to whatever version you end up using. I just noticed yesterday that most of the existing paintschemes are blank on one side of the main float. I don't blame you for not wanting to get involved with the catapult. I wouldn't get involved with it myself, except I'm the one that wants it! lol! I've spent so much time messing with it, and the Kingfisher is the ONLY float plane that doesn't work on the catapult! I'm sorry you're having such trouble with the skins, but thank you for doing this for us!

i think it best if you send me a skin (any skin) that you use, which has the floats showing correctly. that way there's no doubt.
also, i am trying 'behind the scenes' to find out exactly what's going on with this plane, and the catapult.
if i happen upon a working solution, i'll be sure to share it with you.  :)

edit: or you could just give me the name of one of the skins you use that show the floats correctly - there aren't that many skins for this plane, and i think i have most of them, so the name alone should help me to see which float setup is working correctly for you.

Hmmm... Unfortunately, I don't think I have ANY that show correctly. A few show color over the floats, but they appear to have detail shifted from another part. I just updated to Kingfisher 1.7, but still no luck with the catapult, even with the patch. I will double check and see if there are any correct showing skins though.

OK, I checked. On all of my skins, the main float's coloring appears to be shifted 90 degrees counter clockwise. Only the Australian default skin is correct.

yep, it's the same problem i've got with most of the skins, then...
okay, not to worry about the skin, i'll just make an alternative float layer in photoshop to deal with whichever version decides to to be fashionable at that time. ;)

as promised, a few screens of current progress.
floats finally taking shape, needs a bit more work though, and still a fair amount to do on the lower (underside) fuselage, weathering, etc.
the screens give a rough idea of what she'll look like, though ;)

Excellent! It's beautiful! Two things though, if it's not to much trouble.  :-| The top of the wings and the top 90 degrees of the cowl are actually navy blue, the same color you used around the cockpits. Or maybe you just didn't get to it yet. I apologize, I didn't give any very good pics of the top. You've definitely hit this out of the park though, this is much better than any of the other Kingfisher skins!
