Just do with it what you wish ... anyone, Helen, Col King ... anyone else ... all of the mods are collective work in many ways, certainly by inspiration and sharing of info and techniques. I wish i had more time to work on maps, but with the Great War Centennial coming up I have to try and do my part - especially while publishers interest is still going strong.

Anyway - here is something for Helen. It is part of the large memorial built nearby Vimy Ridge and Arras and Notre Dame de Lorette in northern France. This area was the scene of many battles and fierce fighting in 1915 and later around Vimy throughout 1917 as well. The whole area abounds in memorials, battlefields, monuments and museums of the Great War. The Moroccan Division memorial also has plaques commemorating the many nationalities that served as volunteers in the French army during the Great War.

I thought Helen might like to see one of the plaques.

Oh that is much interesting i did not to know French army have for it members Greek soldiers at WWI, of course Greece and Turkey they are not good friends and many times did i arrive at Bodrum airport and when could they did see i am HAF always did they maked for me problems at customs, always did they insist to search my luggage and want to know what is i do in their country so with you map now i can bomb Bodrum  ;D

All this problem with Greece and Turkey did begin many years gone when beautifull Greek girl from Sparta she did run away with Turk man his name is Paris and so Greece did destroy turkey city at troy and send thousand ships, she was much big trouble this woman i do think her name was Helen-of-Sparta  ::) :-X So now when i go at Turkey they do look to see my name is Helen and i am Spartan and always they do look beyond me to see if Greek navy do follow  ;D but at this century i did run away with English man and lucky for England Greece can not afford to send not even one fishing boat to rescued me  ;D

With all due respect, Helen, your history is in desperate need of revision! Turks appeared in Asia Minor centuries after Troy's demise. They can claim Trojan origin (the whole of Western Europe actually claimed Trojan origins till the 15th century) but this is another case of "imaginary community"... ;)

btw - I just reloaded the map (didn't have much time before this) and I noticed that there are still a number of airfields and objects placed in the middle of water ... these are all working templates or groups of objects that can prove useful in populating. They are meant to be copy/pasted when populating the map ...

You can find their location by using a 'select all' command ... and of course do whatever you wish with them ...

Objects can be removed when you work in map maker. You load the map, select the objects you want removed and then press 'delete' ... you can select groups of objects too ...

You'll also have to add objects in the map maker as well.

And if many of the objects in the water are templates for use on the map, you can always remove them at the very end when you're done populating the map. It's really useful to have villages, towns, depots etc ready made for copy/pasting
