Yes it's been difficult not being on IL-2 but hey sometimes you need to pursue other things that are relevant.. also for a bit of trivia model making also aides myself in my skin work as colours can be picked and camo copied from them. So really gents they work hand in hand!

My plans are I do wish to buy another gaming PC so I can fly with you guys again and that will be next month or so! It's a case of wait and see

Anyway here's an update on my models, the Spitfire I've finished, the Harrier I've put on the backbench for the time being as I'm focusing on my Saab Draken! Enjoy.

with paper planes, you shall never surrender...

That's a shit case, I know, probably some others of us had it too, I had to wait 5 Years after the initial
release of IL-2 to get a playable PC and Graphic Card. 2005 my first 2nd hand gfx card burned to hell,
with it that shit PC. 2007 was a lucky Year. Then later bought COD and BOS deluxe
Editions just to see they changed specs soon afterwards. Waiting again more than 5-6 Years was in.
Remember our passion is long virtue and having big breaths, patience. Like me getting the chance to
buy a decent rig, time will come and you'll be back, buisy collecting stuff, doing the things you also like.
In the meanwhile hold out as best as you can. Our thoughts are with you.

Cool builds, I lost patience in plastic Models, since 16 y.o. I haven't touched one,
my Pal gifted me a cool Wildcat/Martlet Box, but I have no nerves for that atm.
although creativity, I hate the handcraft part, glueing and things that relax.
If artistic, I'm a weasel, a canvas I can't paint in one rush isn't pulled up
twice by me. I always express myself in fast lanes. Like a hectic madman.
Recently I joined up a local arts school again, to break some habbits and maybe
get a new swing at things. It's never wrong to try again.

Don't forget us here, drop by if time permitts

Hey Tobi,

I do check in to see what's new and to be honest with the new 3D's, Ultrapack and the BAT updates it's something for me to look forward to when I do properly return.

I realise mate you do rush around a lot and you persist in making incredible work for us to enjoy, from skins to correct aircraft dimensions... I ascertain how difficult it is but really this is your hobby and RL does dominate at times but that's life really...

As for my models it's a hobby I've enjoyed for 24 years with the aide of my late Grandfather, friends who do it and also learning new techniques on the internet. All done with hairy sticks, tools, enamel and acrylic paints as well as water or white spirit. Also adding a heck of a lot of patience which also helps. With the 30 models which both my Grandfather and I have built since the 1990's to today it's a special hobby for me as it reminds me of creativity and also aiding myself in my photoshop work. In fact it was also one of the big factors as to why most herald my work highly is due to model making.

Still, I'm not going anywhere and I'll never lose my loyalty to our family.

Glad you like her Andy, I never get bored of making these and considering I built one 12 years ago I feel this is the better efforts of building her. Still, soon the decals will be applied. She'll be in the colours of the checkers in F10 wing.

Gents and friends on SAS...

This is my last update on this Airfix Draken kit... with all the touch ups and model looking crisp I decided as all the paint had dried to add a spray acrylic gloss varnish onto the kit and sadly the model's paintjob bubbled and I have no way of reversing this whatsoever.

It's a bit of a heartbreak considering all the effort I'd put into her, however I've learned a valuable lesson here.. and that is to NEVER use acrylic spray varnishes on enamel paints as the reaction of the oil with the spray chemicals cause the paint to wrinkle and bubble and not even sanding was effective as I'd have no issue with starting the paint scheme again. But in an attempt to do this resulted in damage to the plastic and unlike me these days I got so frustrated I slammed the model onto my floor, breaking the wings off and splitting the fuselage as well as the tail top breaking apart.

However with the loss of temper being only seconds I know in heart it was my fault. You'll find the last picture of this particular kit below before I smashed her... All is not lost though as I do have another Draken in the post and it should be with me next week so the journey can start again....

I do apologise for the waste of posts I did in regards to this kit as many of you were looking forward to seeing it finished....

Yip it's painful... however it's all a learning curve, I haven't given up and with a new Airfix Draken in the post awaiting arrival. So the journey will start again in the near future

Talking to Ricky as well he's had the same problem as well... so we're all in the same boat!
