Thanks Andy!

Speaking of updates, she's all decaled up, Kleared and given a grubby wash... :)

And yes.. the prop spins! ^-^

After the wash was added and allowed to dry I applied the gun smoke and exhaust staining... she's almost finished and another one to add to my collection. :)

Nice work - looks like she's got a few hours in the logbook.  8)

Evening all members and friends on SAS,

Tonight, after 5 days hard work I present the completed Revell Bf-109G-10 in 1/72. I have to conclude this was a very fun build and with such a pleasing result I will be building this kit again in the future. Yes there was a tonne of flash on the tool but once you had ridden the parts of that they fitted well, the paintscheme though was a little misleading... with the box depicting brown/green when the instructions say two tone greens.  :-|

With Ghost129er's and P51vsFw190's advice I made the risk with the green camo and it worked beautifully! Much better than I anticipated as mixing colours isn't really my thing... but this has given me confidence to do it more with models in the future! ;D

Enjoy the pictures and that beautiful sound of the Daimler Benz 605 from the sole flying example of a G-10. 8)

Glad you liked her Andy, yep a fun built and a satisfying finish... :)

Now my next challenge... and this one is the BIGGEST of my modelling career in 2021... aaaand it's this... a kit from as far back as the 1950's. Which originally started as the BT-K Spitfire by Airfix in 1954 but they ''revised'' the tool and she saw the shelves from 1958 until 2007. The boxing I have is from 1994, and I have to say she's in good condition.. however there's a lot of work to be done... and I mean a LOT. :-|

This model kit I've built around 3-4 times when I was a child and never took it seriously, firstly it was the Humbrol boxing from 1999, then the 2003 Dogfight Doubles with the God awful Bf-110C-4 kit from Airfix and the other's I've forgotten.. :))

Well Tore and Andy...

Here we go... in anniversary of my first model kit I built in 2001, as I mentioned originally I never took this kit seriously but I never understood at the time how terrible this kit was and yes the detail is pretty dire. No cockpit detail except for a well molded pilot, a seat and no interior detail and sadly I have no parts to make any from, still I'm willing to give this kit my best shot despite this kit's age...  :-X

Still, inner fuselage painted, pilot started and prop done... this should be done in at least 4 days. :)

Bits and pieces...

Morning all on SAS,

As Paljeet (KT) said he was looking forward to seeing an update on this project and well... here it is, Johnnie Johnson has been finished, the final touches made before assembly. The model should be together by this afternoon. ;)

However I noticed one thing, on the fuselage of the kit the tail fin of the port side has almost snapped in two, I haven't done anything to prolong this problem as it may have happened in transit. Maybe if luck is on my side the part MIGHT be still in the box... fingers crossed. :-[

Well gents,

After dealing with the malformed wings and tail she's now one piece and the coat of 106 was applied! Being a kit from 1957 the wings were one piece and I realised how bad it was!

Still, I'm happy with the result so far!
