Well gents,

The Spitfire has now gotten her full markings and she does look the part... the first Mk.IX I've done properly and I feel she's worth it. :)

Interesting to see the different wing surface structure.

Afternoon Gents,

Well, this has to be one of the fastest builds I've done... at approximately 20:30 last night the Matchbox Spitfire Mk.IXe in 1/72 was completed. 2 days... yes 2 days from parts on a sprue to the completed aircraft. I'm super happy with this and for the first time since 2007 I finally have a properly done Mk.IX Spitfire in my collection. Enjoy!  8)

Oh and P.S, enjoy that sound.... music!

You've got every right to be happy with that build - great result!  8)

If it wasn't for the Red Army taking over the house, I'd be sorely tempted to pick some old Matchbox kits up.  :)

Thanks Andy, it felt great doing the build and it was fun. I look forward to more Matchbox kits as I do have 2 more in the post on the way which are the Hurricane Mk.IIC and the Spitfire Mk.XVIe. :)

So continuing my Spitfire's here's the Revell Spitfire Mk.Vc in 1/72, this kit has been renound for it's good build quality and detail. It's a bit of deja-vu here as I have built this kit during the beginning of this year however that one I felt wasn't done justice by extra detail, gun smoke or exhaust staining. Instead I used an acrylic like oil which i think and it obscured much of the detail including some silly metal chipping which now doesn't look right.  :-|

Afternoon gents,

After a day's worth of being quiet I haven't stopped painting... all the internal goods are painted, prop, wheels, undercarriage doors and legs done. Assembly wise, today it was like this...

It all went together in;

1. :)

2. ;)

3. ;D

Painting will commence once the liquid poly has dried and hardened. Also for the record she's going to be a Mk.Vb clipped wing version in the colours of AE-A, 402 Sqn RAF stationed at Duxford in 1943.

Top grey applied, to add to things I now possess a rare acrylic pot of Revell 79 Matte Iron Grey... what a miracle! ;D

Evening gents,

After a laid back day the green camo was applied, I'm very happy with this one.. painting a model this small with a medium brush isn't easy.. but as usual I did prevail and well, here's the result. :)
