Afternoon all,
This'll be my last post for a while as I'm taking a break of model building as I feel I've done enough for the time being.
The update on the Spitfire XVI is not a good one, this actually was the reason it put me off as yes I'd had plenty of success but fails were starting to take effect... The paint coat I applied was a pot of Revell 79 which was on it's way out, the paint was thick, and even with thinners it didn't work.. the detail of the recessed panel lines filled in and despite using sandpaper and white spirit it just removed the panel lines and the paint went rock hard in minutes so I classed this project over.
Ricky and the chap who runs the YouTube channel Model Minutes suggested I make a diorama but sadly it was too late it went into the skip... by this point gents another Matchbox Spitfire XVI and the Heller version arrived. So when I come back to it in the future I'll continue the build of the new one which I had made a start on.
The interior was painted, the fuselage alteration was much cleaner than I did last time and the gap of the fuselage was a lot closer to the end of the tail where on the first one it was badly done and yet again over exuberance got the better of me so for now gents I've packed all my model stuff away but I will be back!
