If you have ever used any video editing software you know they all have a similar way of managing files.
I didn't like the way everything was put into a pool so I did it my own way.
When you are a director and you are directing real people that is it's own challenge.
You don't want to piss off your actors but at the same time some people think they can direct the movie better than you.
I lucked out and some of the people in the movie had their own home audio studios so I just sent them the script and they sent me back dot wave or dot mp-3 files.
I had to go to some of the actors with my laptop to get their audio.
But the best way was to have the voiceover actors come over and record audio on my laptop while they watched the scene on my other computer.
Filming the scenes in IL-2 was pretty easy. I just save the track files and went back and film them . You can speed up and slow down and get all kinds of cool views by adding static camera's to the mission.
I set up the mission in 20 parts, that is to say I saved the same mission 20 times and filmed, say the takeoff in it's own mission called Tank Busters Takeoff, all it had was the home base .
The most tedious part was setting up the missions , putting the objects on the maps.
I had trouble getting the taxi waypoints to work and had to keep referring to post's here at SAS until I finally got it right.
I thought doing green screen would be hard sense I'd never done it before but found out how easy it really is. I found several green screen explosions on youtube free.
On my next movie I would like to use 4.13 , the buildings and maps are awesome so I'll be installing that next. I really need some advice on how to get it to work properly.
All feedback is welcome.
