I personally would like to see, or work on that map "Ostrava". It is where there
were located many underground factories of teh Third Reich. It is what the
allied forces called the last Alpine redoute. In the border between checkolosvakia and
Germany there were also numerous airfields undercover in forests and also Me-262
and aircraft factories hidden in the forests. One of them was located with an airfield
on top of a mountain, and it was so well camouflaged that the allied soldiers only
found it after the war was over. This map looks great. Has teh right shape and all
the right stuff on it. Also ,nearby on the bottom right of the map was the airfield
where they tested teh secret jet airplane "Horten Ho-229" (the flying wing).
I have all this info and photos on my files if anyone wishes to see it all.
Your doing a great job Agracier. Thanks mate!
Cheers

That map was requested by Cracken, who's made many campaigns and put together fine campaigns, skins and music packs ... it of course needs populating and could very well turn out to be a doozy of a job since there are so many towns and villages to do ...

Back to the Mig Alley map

I recall you made an initial basic map as people requested it.

Then you made a really good starter pack map including textures(for placement), map_T template, ed_map etc
It was a really good map pack for people who want to learn more to do things themselves on a map.

I remember seeing an illustration of this object, but I can't remember where. In any case it would be perfect for this map. I'm not certain f it is finished yet. If so, is there a link for downloading?

Can I ask Agracier?
In which development is the map Ostrava?
For what year is primarily intended for?
How many people working on it?
Thank you for your reply.

The map is, bar populating and I believe the placement of cultivated fields textures, virtually finished otherwise.

At the moment a group of other modders/mappers have taken the map to auto-populate - for which I give heaven-felt thanks. I don't know when it is planned on being done, but it should be in the very near future. Since I haven't had any experience with auto-populating objects, I don't know what will still need to be done afterwards, manual cleaning up, placement of further objects, creation of specified urban areas? I'll have to wait and see.

I'll also be gone in June with no internet connection for about a month and then with a limited connection and a lower scale machine for the next two months. Which means that serious map making won't be possible for me from June till mid-September ... maybe some work will be done on lesser tasks ... it will depend.

So if the map isn't ready by the first week of June, it will most likely be for the autumn ... if all goes well with auto-popping ...

On the time frame - the screenshot is with pre 1938 borders I think, before the Munich agreement to detach the Sudetenland. It was envisioned to have FMB maps with other borders indicated - Gross-Deutschland with Bohemia-Moravia Protectorate and maybe post WWII border ... but essentially the map contents will remain the same, no matter what the borders are ...

Hi Agracier. My objects Cs. fortification of northern Moravia, was only a test. In addition to the other leg. Now working on the project for the Department of Ostrava and Opava. Cracken is provided at all information available. In the future would be good for the 38th larger map year. See picture. Sorry for my English. Olde

Incidentially for another change in atmosphere how about the Black Sea coast around Georgia and northern Turkey? A potential flashpoint and one the Germans were trying to exploit during WW2

I've been trying to get a good map of the area made, but previous efforts just didn't work out for some reason ... but I will keep on trying. The Caucasus is always mysterious and alluring too, but the maps I tried out never looked very good ...

Hi Agracier,

I made a start up map of the Caucasus Region for some one. I haven't seen any progress on it for a long time. I even made the sea navigable.

If you like I'll post a link to your message box  just for you to play with first then give it to the masses.

I recall I made it 100 kilos  1 pixel

Yours for a rework Agracier and once gain this can go in your maps list when you are finished with it.

That is if you want it.

Definitely a Kevin P map but I changed the sea to be ship worthy

Cheers Kirby
