can someone consider doing a 1/2 scale New Guinea map, including Port Moresby, Lae, Buna, Kokoda, & north to Rabaul on New Britain?

Bay of Biscay seems to cause a CTD as soon as I zoom in. All objects load fine and I have no problems with CTDs on any other map. Any ideas?

I've not encountered this and this is the first time I've heard this problem on Biscay.

It might be possible that the present version of Frog's Formation Mod might cause this, should you have it installed. It's worth trying out without the mod, just to see if this causes it.

I've had a few glitches on new maps with this otherwise necessary and very outstanding mod. But luckily since the mod is under review and revamping, this should not be an issue in the future.

I've also come across a few maps I cannot save on.  Like me, I think most other people forget about the map and move on to other things.  It's a pity but people don't like to get involved with complicated things.  What might seem simple for a map builder can seem like rocket science to a Regular Joe.

I build all my maps using the old UI1.11 and I expect most people already have the objects that came with that pack.  But even doing that, there have been others who've had trouble with the maps because they didn't have particular mod objects (ie, road plates or mod bridges).

I expect there are many people who do not have UP or HSFX and still add maps and mods one at a time.  We can't expect people to have all the object mods that come with UP or HSFX.... Just another headache caused by populating objects  :P

I suggest that you really stick to UP 2.1. Trust me, it is worth it. I was not keen on changing mod packs, but then I changed my mind and it really paid off. Otherwise you might need to add many different mods which could be really bothersome...

I use a map builder with an old version of UI ... it loads quickly which is a useful point when making maps. And besides, I've uninstalled all mods that have nothing to do with making maps such as cockpits, new planes, sound mods and visual mods for smoke and the like.

However concerning object packs - they all work with the map maker. It's just a question of installing them correctly and patiently.

Of course i install all new object packs with my regular game as well, a UP2.0 version. And as long as the mod pack objects are synchronized, there is no problem.

Besides, installing new objects is not much more than extracting and then copying folder(s)/files to a correct location and then copying and pasting a given amount of text into the correct location of another file. With some practice, even when the instructions aren't wholly clear because of a non-English speaker, there is little difficulty knowing what to do. It's always the same procedure.

It is a simple procedure that I think most people who do use MODS know how to install new ones.
It's just a matter of the downloader knowing which mods to install, especially if he does not have UP2.0
For the people who don't have UP, it would be helpful if they had a list of mod packs to install for the particular map.
