I installed CUP WAW yesterday at halftime, and later fired it up successfully. I went through the QMB to test a bunch of the planes, all of the ones I tried were flyable. I played some tracks to test that out, worked out just fine. I viewed objects in the viewer, all ok except for one plane that wasn't viewable, no big deal.

However, I started the USN single mission "take off from aircraft carrier 1" and was dropped into the mission. Seemed to start ok, but once I fired up the engine and it was idling, the game crashed. At first I thought it might be related to the big drop in framerate I experienced during engine start with all the excessive smoke and fire, but I restarted the game/mission and zoomed way out so the detail wouldnt be so much, and it still crashed. I'm going to do some more testing tonight, but I wanted to drop this topic here to see if anyone had any ideas.
Shut off some of the detail? An engine mod? A reinstall?

I apologize for not grabbing the log file, but I'll definitely do that tonight and post it back here after dinner. Great mod by the way, way overdue!

Thanks!

My rig is pretty beefy, gtx780x2 in sli, Corei7 4770 proc, plenty o' ram, etc....

I cannot confirm this. Played the same mission "Carrier Take-Off 1" (S01.mis) in UN/F6F-5 in WAW pt20,
no problems when having started the engines here. Went something wrong with your installation?
The error messages points to a SAS-EngMod error I think.

For the fps at engines startup try using one of the
"#WAW_00_FPS x SMOKE..."options in jsgme.  ;)

Have you installed other jsgme options? Or any other mods?
What is the lates part of the modules you have installed?
etc.

The install was uneventful.

I did some more testing last night and I only had an issue with the one single mission. I even started the mission and just sat on the carrier deck, engine off for a few minutes until the game crashed. Same log errors.

I then loaded a few different maps, with different planes in the QMB, all were ok, even with the fps drop during engine start. I still need to change to a "less smoke/fire" option.

I've got a few different mods enabled in jsgme, and all seem to work ok as far as I can tell. I have the latest WAW module (pt20). That said, I did disable all mods in jsgme, and the game would ctd at 5% until I reenabled the 3 sound mod options. I also found that the QMBPro mod would cause the quick mission builder to throw an error when loading a quick mission...something about "empty data link" or some such. Without the QMB mod enabled, QMB worked fine. I guess a different question for a different day. :P

I suggest to try a different version of the Engine mod....or check if you have by chance two different versions of the engine mod running at the same time....
I never got the stock engine mod which is included in WAW pt18 running properly (the one that is supposed to make the cat on the Iowa working)
using the newer one from JSGME options did the trick for me though...

Seach for this line
Code: [Select]
at com.maddox.il2.ai.air.Maneuver.update(Maneuver.java:4078) with the search function. I´ve seen it before and have had the problem. Don´t really remeber the fix but it´s there somewhere.

The fix:

"Disable all jsgme mods and delete existing# WAW folder. Extract WAW#12 to Il2.  WAW#12 is a COMPLETE AND NEW replacement for existing WAW folder. It looks like you still have the old Engine Mod folder that causes problems with carrier take-offs. 25.7MB is the size for Engine MOD  in #WAW from WAW#11."

After which I reinstalled the rest of the modules, WAW 13 - WAW20

Ok, so I went back to do a little test and with a clean unmolested copy of 4.12.2 I installed modact 5.3 plus the patch, then waw 1-20, then mme. Super clean install, runs good, EXCEPT the carrier takeoff single mission. Something is amiss I suspect. I know I can perform the steps I posted above to get it to work, but is that a fix? No.

Ideas? Thanks!
