Starting with Modding - Hard to learn? (Bachem Ba 349 for Il-2)
« on: February 13, 2016, 06:35:44 AM »

Hello Gents,

i have a dream - i want to fly the Bachem Ba 349 Natter (http://www.diseno-art.com/news_content/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/Bachem-Ba-349-Natter-1.jpg)  in Il-2 1946. There's a Topic about it (https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,13218.12.html) but it looks like it's down. Because it looks like nobody makes it for the game, i wanted to ask how long will it take to be into 3d modding in order to make a ba 349, it is a bit special (Vertical Take off, "Landing" with a parachute...) So a quick answer would be great! Thanks in advance ;)

If you have no 3D modeling experience, ... umm I also think 2 or 3 years.
I spent same term from my first modeling (only retouching existing models) to succeeding scratch building in modding IL-2 1946.

When you finished the 3d you need to find someone whos got time to import it into the game (java slot & flight model) and another guy to do the textures (cockpit, externals, damage layer). Hence modding is a team effort, aircraft mods are rarely produced by a single individual.

The alternative is to do the FrankenPlane ... 6 months ... 1 year if you have never done 3D!
But it is FrankenPlane...
