Can't save missions on maps? Here's how to resolve it....
« on: February 24, 2016, 07:34:42 AM »

Hi folks
it still seems to be a regular problem for newcomers that they find themselves in a situation where a map does not allow you to save missions in FMB.
there's one prime reason for this, and that is that you don't have all the objects installed that the map uses.
Here is the tool you will need to use to find out exactly which objects you're missing, and so makes it easier to know what you need:
It's called the Universal Static Checker.
https://www.mediafire.com/download/gm72om5ua7htfgc/universal_static.ini_checkerV1.3.zip
Use this, and you'll immediately know which objects you miss.
Of course, your next step is then to locate said objects, but it's now easier for others to help you, as you can indicate to us exactly which objects you need.
Simple enough, yeah? Good luck with your maps and mission building - and don't forget to share any cool missions and/or campaigns you make with the rest of us!  8)

First tip for newbies:
If you want a modern 4.12.2 based install and all objects-use CUP or the VP Modpack. Most objects already in! You will need nothing more for pretty much any map except some rare exceptions. (Not sure how HSFX handles objects nowadays)
Both packages available here at this very forum.

Thread on how to add all maps to a vanilla 4.12.2 ModAct 5.3 install..by using SAS~Boomer's objects pack.
