Stainless's tool - restoring install
« on: February 26, 2016, 10:26:32 AM »

Hello there.
I managed to get my install totally FUBAR and delete a few files. Now I can't run it (files missing), reinstall it (it is not unistalled) nor can I uninstall it (files missing) and install anew.

Does anyone know how to solve this?

That was my problem, too.

What Windows version you use and ..... which status your Windows is -- applications install information (maybe written in registry) of Windows is healthy or broken -- make difference you can do.

I was unlucky.
My Windows' applications install information was broken and I had to reinstall Windows to solve it.
I could not find what registry key had those information and fix in editing registry. I gave up.

Stainless's tool files maybe installed here (Windows7's case).
C:\Users\ "Your Windows Account" \ AppData\Local\Apps\2.0\****\*****\il2m..****\

Koty, Stainless often updates his threads - you don't think asking in his thread would be a more effective way of getting a solution?

I don't use any registry keys, so all you should have to do is search in

c:\Users\<account name>\Apps\2.0

for

IL2Modder.exe

And you should find the directory with everything in it.

All the problems I have heard about so far are to do with .NET broken installations  and there is not much I can do about that.
