Here's the checksum of the file (dated 11/09/2014 08:03:10) in \CUP\JSGMEMODS\

Code: [Select]
File                    MD5                                     CRC32           Size
6D8F6BA002E7F440 be37caf641e6288358b38bb7fb37e056 88342e2a 25,863

I wonder how western's and Jim_diGris' one stacks up? Sounds like the method was accidentally deleted before compiling one release version of VisualModV9 and re-instated for a later version.

Did you check whether "chuteTangled" exists in your file?

I've checked my Visualmod9 classfile, generated a sfv file and the checksum is 88342E2A, size is the same 25,863 , hence I got the file as CUP. You must have a duplicate file in your #WAW folder. You need to do a file search for 6D8F6BA002E7F440. Classcheck exe can also be used.

As I posted back in reply#13 I have the chuteTangled method in my file. I have no CTDs which I guess I should have specified at that point. I posted reply#13 in response to westerns post (https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,50646.msg555833.html#msg555833) stating that his VisualMod paratrooper.class did not have the chuteTangled method. I was indicating that there may be more than one version of the VisualMod paratrooper.class that people have downloaded.

Then I posted reply#24 with the checksum of the "working" paratrooper.class and invited western and Jim_diGris to check theirs and maybe we can join all the dots to make a nice picture.

You mean you couldn't read my mind! :P

Sorry about that. I think it was a case of same thread, different planet.

Still, western's or Jim's file info for their paratrooper.class might get this thread tagged solved and closed.

Why my name is written ?

I've never touch Paratrooper.class or Chute.class in any of MODs I've released.
I don't have enough knowledge about both classes not only about Pablo's tweaked codes but also stock codes, how working they are --- what plans they are wanted --- etc.

Why my name is written ?
Because this thread is chaotic.
Too many people talking across each other, not necessarily about the same thing, nobody listens to each other... babylonic.

At the same time it could have been so easy:
We already know that the Original Visual Mod V9 has this issue.
We also know that the "Ordnance View Port" version of Visual Mod V9 has this issue.
Last but not least we know that the CUP integrated version of Visual Mod V9 does not have this issue.

Why not just use the working version?

Best regards - Mike

...

Because you wrote earlier...

Quote
Pablo's Visual MOD V9 (containing Walking Pilot) 's Paratrooper.class doesn't have that method , its missing causes error and CTD

But Visual Mod V9 from CUP does not have this problem so I was asking which version is in your install.

Storebror has made it clear that at some point in the development of VisualMod V9 the problem was solved but the version number remained at 9 which is why different people saying they have V9 installed can have different results.

Nothing wrong with a bit of confusion and conflict if the general direction of travel is toward a solution.

Mike and All, I have been quite out of the forum lately (vacations and a new girlfriend generate this).

Now I know where it happens and where not. Plase Mike, could you briefly state as you know do that: what exactly the problem is? What do we know about the cause? So I can track it and fix it.

Regards,
                 Pablo

Simply explained,

com.maddox.il2.objects.air.Paratrooper class is missing the "void chuteTangled(Actor actor, boolean flag)" method.
