hmmm I didnt think to copy and paste over the mod, I just installed it as a different mod. but copying and pasting over the original v9 works a charm and the minimap is back to enhanced :D  so far no CTDs either, lots of chutes, even cargo chutes working now.

in my case it was over "JSGMEMODS\#CUP_VisualMOD9-v4122\#WAW\00_PAL-VisualMOD9-v4122"

Ok that's what i did. But i get a CTD at 30% when the mission is loading.

Well, while a gracious solution to your problem was put forward. A guideline to the implementation of said solution was not(hence my first question). Us 'Babylonians' often need a path to follow in order to resolve an issue. I don't expect a person of your stature and brilliance to understand. Secondly, the implementation of said gracious solution caused another catastrophic CTD. While I could have opened a new thread on this new failure. Anybody assisting with this new problem would have to read through this thread in order to understand what was going on. therefore i carried it on in this thread. Also if "I" had this happen, its reasonable to assume that others might have this problem as well, and it could be troubleshot, squashed, and stickied and been done with. Im just messing with you Malone anytime i have a problem a quick search of the forum generally ends with a solution from you. But since you asked for a explanation here it is.

I received a gentle nudge in this direction from a related thread regarding the said problem, and so far have found it helpful. Have yet to install vismod.
