Coral Sea 1:1 WIP
« on: April 02, 2016, 03:48:22 PM »

For a next starting SEOW I've done a provvisory Coral Sea 1:1 map.

Find it at
https://www.mediafire.com/download/0zggcvvz79lmt3o/Coral_Sea_%28Bigans%29_v1.0.rar
the word to copy in your all.ini is

Coral_Sea_(Bigans) Coral_Sea_(Bigans)

Infos about this SEOW

http://seowhq.net/seowhqforum/viewtopic.php?f=113&t=3323

This campaign will be a carrier operations only.

Anyway, could you help me to locate Airfields, Seaplanes station, harbours?

Thanks to: Kevin DP for his map tutorial

Hi,
So far i know, the japanese or allies had during the time of the coral sea battle no airfields in the south east corner of New Guinea!
3 airfields for the allies lay in Port Moresby, the japanese had an airfield in Guadalcanal (in works, not ready) and an improvised seaplane base at Deboyne:

All the best for your project!

Don´t you need a bit more on the east side? I mean Tulagi, etc

The ed_m0.tga is 211Mb, needs to be converted to 8bit format/indexed color and cut down to at least half its dimensions. Since most of the map is a single blue color the 9696*7816 navmap is not required.

Hey Guy, Spartan wrote to me that you've done the same map. Is your map 1:1?

I hope not to work for nothing.

Ciao

Not everybody will be able to load a 211Mb nav map. The average size of the nav maps I'm using is around ~20Mb.

I have enlarged the size in microdem since my pc memory gave up and had no more failures in the landscape,
but its definitely not 1:1, a bit smaller!
If you want to use it, take better Bombsaways retextured version, looks far better:

Ok I'll do soon as possible. This means I have to do the same for all ed_m, isn't it?
Thank you

I find a trouble with map_h in Solomons islands. Volcanoes are almost 0 meters...Perhaps microdem does not has right datas...
