Planes of Fame
« on: April 15, 2016, 02:59:44 PM »

For the first time in almost 16 years Planes of Fame's HA-1112-M1L Hispano roared to life late in the evening of April 13, 2016.

It was last seen flying in the movie Pearl Harbor.

They were having some wiring issues when I left on Wednesday so I was just as surprised as anyone that they started it up that evening.

The Planes of Fame Hispano was on the hot ramp running its engine again yesterday.

If everything goes as planned it will be flying at this years airshow in less than a week.

That is wonderful good news!  8)
It is looking nice with that early type of Camouflage from the BoB era.

Almost 8 years later and the PoF Hispano has yet to get air under its wings except on aircraft jack stands...
First issue was that they had to rebuild the Merlin and there were some other airframe concerns that needed to be addressed. When the Dunkirk movie project fell through due to the inability of it to be flown safely the restoration project was basically sent to the back burner in regards to priority.
