5% loading crash
« on: May 03, 2016, 03:49:00 PM »

I have read the other topic, but it seems to be aimed more at people who have used the SAS mod before, which I haven't my folder had none of the things you were supposed to get rid of before doing the modact 6.0 but it is crashing at 5% regardless, and I am not sure why.

The topic lists several reasons. Probably need to redownload all the SFS files to make sure one isn't missing or corrupt.

See here, this may help https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,22.0.html

However,  I would suggest you re-start with a clean install and patch up to the version you want. Read everything carefully and back up important files as well as make backups of working versions as you apply each patch.... just to save a lot of work later...

It is not easy we know, especially when you are new to the idea of mods, but take each step slowly and you will find it is well worth it.

In my experience, 5% crash or non-opening main game splash screen crash is caused by not only SFS missing.
(only SASModAct's splash is shown and soon crash)

In my time, very "CORE" classfile's conflicting made it and no log is recorded, because of the crash occurred in too early stage of starting-up.
But by "SAS Selector v3.1.4 Startup Debugger" , I could get the error log recording the true crashing reason and I succeeded to solve my problem.

When your problem comes from SFS missing, that reason is recorded in your error log in a standard start-up way.
