The limitations of hotas controls.
« on: June 01, 2016, 05:55:51 AM »

I am currently rebuilding my flightsim hardware. My devices:
Authentic throttle: 8 hotas = #1 USB controlcard available buttons about 30 and a joystick plugin.

Homemade panels 2 pcs,
with potentiometer and
sliders and buttons:        = #2 and #3 USBcontrol card

MGF Rudderpedals:         = #4 USB CC

Aand a floorbased YOKE or Stick= #5 USB CC

This game take only 3 of the USB cards, is there a way out in this regard? a simple solution. I have put the devices in a 10 slot USB HUB where I can switch off two of these USB CC, but that means reconfigure all other simulators. The CC change names in this prossess many times.
This make me fly IL 2 very seldom, I have the urge every day . But it take time reconfigure any modules in DCS.

There's one big problem:
How do I develop something that digs so deep into the game's source code without having the slightest ability to test it?

Best regards - Mike

I can send you my yoke and panels :D .

I know it can be a workaround using two pc, but the limited space forbid me that option. I might open up the panels and see if there is a possibility for using 3 USB cards between my new stick, and throttle and panels. Or down size the panels so it just take 1 USB card. As I see it, with just one disconnected USB card they will not change order and will work as before unplugged

The CH products software driver lets me configure my 4 devices so that they look like just one to the game. I don't know/remember if the software, CM Control Center, works with other usb devices or just CH Products though. Might be work a try and its a free download.

Thanks, SV mapper do not take 5 devices either, I am in the lower/middle range of pit builders. I kind of need to step up or step down. I want too much or too little. I am in the borderline of 2 PC setup.
But I will not until I got space for more screens and a VR device.
I will test out that program
