Norway map
« on: June 21, 2016, 06:34:25 AM »

Dear map modders,
I am using CUP20 and running a campaign using the Norway map.
There is an air base in Banff but the landing strips are more ploughed land than grass or concrete.
Each time that I land I break my aircraft.
How could I improve the nature of the strips?
Best regards.

If you are familiar with MapBuilder or opened FMB at least a bit, you can cover the strips by Cannon's BlankFieldPlates, or ask somebody skilled to do so.

You can try also Zuti's friction mod:

or

https://www.mediafire.com/download/p9v6psx4bsfvoqh/01_ZUTI_AirfieldsFrictionMod_STD_v0.4.7z

depending on the Il-2 version you use.

The problem is missing blank plates, in 4.12 you can use the "Blank Parking Large" plate.
You also need the visible blank plates mod otherwise you wont be able to place the plates correctly.
Here's how it should look:

...and here's a fixed actors.static file:

Can't he use the Test runways available under Stationary Ships and simply place them on the map over the existing terrain?  I'm assuming they're still available in 4.13.

Dear Uzin,
I am not familiar with map building and I have no access to opened FMB.
Dear VPMedia,
the downloading of "the fixed actors.static file was blocked by Google for safety reasons
Dear Tomoose,
it is beyond my skill. I am using CUP20.
Thank you all and best regards.

TM: If what tomoose suggests is what I think I recall, you simply can select them in the drop down list in the normal Mission builder and place them over the field.
BTW I know what you mean..

Istvan: What wonderful map is that? A modded Norway you made?

Tartenmuche;
SAS_Tom2 is correct, you don't need the 'open' FMB, these Test Runways are available in the normal FMB.
I don't believe the version matters.  All versions have the Test Runways.
Open Full Mission Builder and load your mission/map.
Open the Objects and then Stationary Ships.
Scroll down in the Stationary Ships objects and at the bottom of the list you should see Test Runway1, Test Runway2 etc.
Select one and place it on the map, save your mission and your problem should be solved.

NOTE:  The Test runways have differences with each other.
Some are visible and are 'concrete' or 'metal'.  Others are 'invisible' (they show as red in FMB so you can place them properly but are invisible once your mission starts) but they provide a solid, smooth landing surface.
Try it and you'll see what I mean.

The map repaint which was shown is not my work, its made out of aviaskins Zapolare and Companses BoB textures by GilB57 and was included in DBW and other modpacks.

Dear all,
By the way, I installed airfield lights type 4. They are always on. Could you tell me how I could have them switched on by the ground control on demand of the pilot?
I searched but didn't find.
Best regards.
