Wouldn't Ju-52 pit work better?
Well there have been quite a few tried but yes finally parts of the Ju-52 cockpit by Ranwers looked
the best way forward using elements of the Dorniers own 3D internals, here is the progression.
The aircraft was sent to me using the mikoyan H6K as a base so was a four engined plane using the PBY cockpit, from
there the task of turning it into a three engined type began, talk about trial by fire.
The aircraft now uses the cockpit class from the Ju-52E and modified H8K classes suitably adapted to make it function as a three engined type.
I tried the Cant and Ju-52 cockpits initially but my game would hang when loaded, this was rectified ultimately by making them a type three
in the new class built from the H8K, for some reason type six is used in the Cant. I am still having issue with all my three engined types in
4.12 with ModAct 5.30.
Anyway, I started by getting it a slot and sorting the bomb load out, originally this used the one from mikoyan's H6K but now
has progressed to use the two specified loads, six 100KG and twelve 100KG, with a specially made rack by Mike the author of the mod.
This rack only shows on the armed versions so the aircraft is clean otherwise for recaon and SAR:
Work on the cockpit began using the Dornier 3D and developed from there using parts of the TB-3 and Ju-52:
Here is what she looks like today still some sorting out to do but getting there:
Not sure where to put the throttles yet, in photographs I have seen it looks like there is a compartment behind the front cockpit
that has a lot of leavers on a panel so maybe the engineer kept the engines running from there.
More research will be needed to confirm that or not but the cockpit is coming along and for now I can just hide what I am not sure about.
