Hello,

Very much out of the loop due to continuing overloaded life syndrome [business start up], so please bear with me if I'm asking something that should be obvious!

Will your present patch or future patches allow the use of head tracking units? And will the patch be applicable to offline flying? And finally, will the flight modelling be the original UP or will the 4.12/4.13 Il-2 flight modeling be used? I have a older computer that I've always had problems with for some reason my aircraft are rendered too slow by my processor, say 10-15% or so. Ultrapac gave some relief to this dilemma as it is more generous with the speed modeling for the aircraft I fly most often, and allows me a better experience against AI ace opponents. In 4.12 it's really noticeable and detracts from the experience with many planes I fly. I still play UP just to be able to have the field leveled, so to speak, but the AI upgrade you mentioned from  4.13 would be very valuable, IF I can use this with offline play.

Thanks much,

p3

Yes. That even works with unpatched UP3.
In this patch pack there's also the option to use a new TrackIR code, however no one has found out its benefits yet.

And will the patch be applicable to offline flying?
Of course. This patch pack enhances UP3 as a whole, not just online flying.
As you explicitly mentioned the v4.13 AI: Yes, that change affects offline gameplay as well.

The original UP3 FMs are being used. The only exception is iirc the Buffalo FM (as this one was just f***ed up before).

Thank you, Skylla, that's all good to hear!

I will welcome flying UP again soon! Absolutely love their maps, beautiful coloration and especially enjoy their I think superior effects re enemy AI damage, ie various ways the aircraft flame up, extinguish, re-flame, explode, etc. - better than any other Il-2 46' I've used. This is especially true with Japanese early war aircraft, which in HSFX develop just a small tongue of fire from between the flaps after receiving withering fire, whereas with UP you see the violent flame torch described by so many allied combat reports!

And UP allows me to combat with the Ta-152H against the Mk 9 Spits with some chance of success, whereas in all other '46 versions it's hopelessly underpowered, clunky, and modeled pathetically, but I will hasten to add my CPU problem mentioned previously has something to do with this.

best regards,

Hi!! I've been trying to follow along as best I can, but I get confused on all the "this works, this doesn't", so my apologies but I have stock 3.0 patched to RC 4, does this update patch 2.01 go right over that, or do I need to go through the 100 series first, then upgrade to this?

Storebror's latest patch is all inclusive.  If you have a working bald UP3RC4, simply put the latest patch into the JSGME folder then open JSGME and activate it (move it from left to right).  It will give you a warning...but activate it anyway.

Cheers

Gubi, thank you for the info, my friend and I have it patched up to 210, added two mods and it's running perfectly fine!!

Next question: I was on the SAS DF server for a connection test with the 210 activated. I was able to connect, and it runs pretty smooth!! I noticed when I pushed "S" to check scores and such that it has my patch version, and then the server was running one called 211.....is there an update to 210 or is the 211 a server only thing?

Hi Rob,

We're currently working on the next Patch Pack which will be 220.
In the meantime, a couple of closed BETA versions are being tested, that's the ones you see counting from 211 to (if everything goes wrong) 219.
Once the BETA test is finished, 220 will be rolled out officially.

For the moment there's no need to update, you're perfectly fine and up to date with 210.
That's also the reason why the server shows your version in green letters and doesn't push you to update by sending chat lines to you, which would be the case if your version was outdated.

Best regards - Mike
