my favourite IL-2 P-51
« on: August 03, 2016, 11:42:46 AM »

...the P-51A. Brought me even to visit FM again for one topic as I clearly see potential to give the Mustangs a better edge in IL-2. Always felt sorry planes I do not like so much like Gerhard/BK's beloved 109s (no insult mate) get more attention than the Stangs.

ATM work on the final (then real final version) of the P-51A pit.  :o

Love the Stangs

...and, despite a few discrepancies, have to say the new Pony's are nice, except for a few non historical features like external mirror on A models and the old IL-2 issue, the wing.

BTW flying Duxford rocks!

Hope to finish my humble attempt on improving the early Mustang and B/C model pits this summer.

Cheers

Tom

..of course this is a favourite Il-2 twin engine..hope to retouch and finish the pit this year with some extras. Not sure I can cut it, but I will give it a last try attempt.

:D Gerhard: I knew you would not let that stand...As you know I am impressed by the BF-109s (especially the early) steady behaviour and lately decided to fly the fully ramp startable version in IIES again. That cockpit rocks.  :)

Let's just say tastes are different and we agree FW-190As and P-38s rock as well. :)

Nice shot! Cheers to Cologne.  :P
BTW Barensy was kind enough to offer me to give a reference for the wings so now I have some idea what to do there.
P-51 pits will be nice I hope.

Thorst.

Looks promising Thorsten.
I'm sorry that I'm not that big of a help when it comes to Ponies, as a Jug jockey their flight model always has a suspicious touch to me, basically the same like any other plane prone to high speed stalls and snaps like the Pony.
But visually there's nothing much to argue about, these are beauties.

Best regards - Mike
