Very interesting upcoming Tobruk map + matching planes ...!   8)

Since I don't know a thing about CoD, could a merciful soul please tell me if we can play OFFLINE without the Steam thingie, and if there is a decent mission builder with the game ...?  ;)

Many THX for posting, Steven ...  :-|

Far as I know you can play offline once installed and does have a map builder I still play the modded version as it better and rather play COD than il2 battle of stalingrad.

You can play off line but you must still be connected to Steam to run the sim.
At least that has been my experience.

"You can play off line but you must still be connected to Steam to run the sim."

... but if this is true, then it is totally stupid ...!  >:(

My gaming PC NEVER goes online, so CoD is not for me ...  :(

No stupid... "Security" !  :P   :D
COD it worked 30 seconds at home then it is blocked ... guess where is the DVD now!  8)

Tons of "recent" games or even "less recent" (compared with IL-2) require an Internet connection (with registration) to ensure that you are the holder of a license.
That's how I bought a game for anything: Neverwinter Nights 2!
Du "bridage" de liberté quelque part ! Mais des milliers de lignes de polémiques sur le pour et le contre de ce "principe".  ;)

... whose "security" ...?  o_O

The customer's ...?  ;D

What's the use of buying a DVD version if you then must be connected to Steam servers to be able to play OFFLINE ...?  >:(

What about all the people who don't have a decent connection, or no connection at all ...?  :-X

Steam peut aller se faire mettre avec une poignée de gravier dans le fion ...!  :D

I agree! What they are doing is manipulating the fans into buying things which will then not work
properly!
It is a rip-off! A SCANDAL!
I never use Steam or buy games which need that type of "online registration".
If I buy the DVD it is supposed to have the game already recorded in it - nothing more to do,
except for me to play it.

I most definitely agree. I don't know if this goes for all copies of CoD, but mine CTD before even getting to the menu STOCK OUT OF THE BOX!

I bought CoD a few years back. After a few months of jumping through Steam's hoops and downloading patches and fiddling with the game files, I finally got it to run! Needless to say, I don't appreciate the fact that there was NO indication on the game box that CoD requires Steam, and of course an internet connection to download everything, since the disk doesn't contain anything except a 25 digit code to "unlock" the game via their stupid update/ad-spamming Steam software.  >:(

Once you get it running, CoD of course has excellent graphics and exquisite detail that makes it look almost real. A bit difficult to get used to the controls after using Il-2 1946, as CoD seems much more complicated to me. And then, I updated to Windows 10. And CoD didn't work anymore. I don't have time to start ALL OVER AGAIN I have a life ya know.  :P

You don't necessarily have to be ONLINE to play OFFLINE. You do have to start the Steam Client to play CloD, but you can start it in OFFLINE mode, which doesn't require you to be connected. (I just checked to make sure I'm not talking out of my butt.) I assume that you have to go online to authorize the game initially, but after that you can use it offline. I think that Steam needs to "phone home" about once a month to check for client updates, but not sure about that. I hate the whole concept of Steam. If not for CloD, Steam would not be on my computer.

Currently have no games on Steam. What i hated most was, having decided you had 30min free to play a game, started up then Steam decided it needed to dowload an update for 45 min. Game over before it starts.
