What's the use of buying a DVD version if you then must be connected to Steam servers to be able to play OFFLINE ...?
What about all the people who don't have a decent connection, or no connection at all ...?
Steam peut aller se faire mettre avec une poignée de gravier dans le fion ...!
I agree! What they are doing is manipulating the fans into buying things which will then not work
properly!
It is a rip-off! A SCANDAL!
I never use Steam or buy games which need that type of "online registration".
If I buy the DVD it is supposed to have the game already recorded in it - nothing more to do,
except for me to play it.
I most definitely agree. I don't know if this goes for all copies of CoD, but mine CTD before even getting to the menu STOCK OUT OF THE BOX!
I bought CoD a few years back. After a few months of jumping through Steam's hoops and downloading patches and fiddling with the game files, I finally got it to run! Needless to say, I don't appreciate the fact that there was NO indication on the game box that CoD requires Steam, and of course an internet connection to download everything, since the disk doesn't contain anything except a 25 digit code to "unlock" the game via their stupid update/ad-spamming Steam software.
Once you get it running, CoD of course has excellent graphics and exquisite detail that makes it look almost real. A bit difficult to get used to the controls after using Il-2 1946, as CoD seems much more complicated to me. And then, I updated to Windows 10. And CoD didn't work anymore. I don't have time to start ALL OVER AGAIN I have a life ya know.
