Change in NVidia graphics settings
« on: August 15, 2016, 04:50:24 AM »

Hi folks, I decided to post here, as it is related to graphics; I want to get rid of those intermittent lines as they appear in the photo (particularly the antenna, edges of wings, etc). Now, years ago, someone posted an alteration in NVidia graphics which settled the issue; any suggestions to solve that issue are particularly welcome, many thanks in advance,

Hello cgagan,

please try "Antialiasing" 8x. "Antialiasing FXAA" should be "off"!

(Click the pic to enlarge please)

And go on please with your works in "Share a screen HALL OF FAME".

Your last post is: 2015 - April.  :(

Best regards, Gerhard  :)

Thanks Gerhard, I'll give it a try... As for the Hall of Fame, I didn't have the time to deal with it,  too many high quality pics now, it's going to be a hard (and subjective) choice.

   Sugestion: Anisotropic filter is heavy, so can be desabled for gain in FPS.

AF is the least heavy thing of all.
AF = Easy.
AA = Medium.
Transparency AA = Heavy.

It seems your problem is your monitor resolution.

What I can see here is (your resolution?) 1366x768.

What is the size of your monitor?

More pixels = more sharpness.  ;)

Regards, Gerhard  :)

Just watched your screenshot again. On the wings I can see: Antialiasing is not activated!  ;)  8)

What Nvidia graphics driver you use?

Indeed the images show no anti aliasing at all.

You need to make sure that you enter the settings to the "Program Settings" tab and there to the "IL-2 Surmovik: Forgotten Battles + Ace Expansion Pack (il2fb.exe)" category:
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,43542.msg567127.html#msg567127

Very important is to select "Override any application setting" in the "Antialiasing - Mode" setting!

Back again,fresh photos, lirtle improvement; Gerhard, yes, you're right, I am currently using my laptop (1366x768)
This is what I now have in my Nvidia control panel, dedicated for the game (in this instance, vp_modpack)
Antialiasing Filtering 8x
Antialiasing-FXAA off
Antialiasing-Mode override any application setting
Antialiasing-Setting 8x
Antialiasing-Transparency Use global setting (off).
Some more recent pics,
