Great Mod!  I am a big fan of the Arab Israeli wars.  See, I have been living in the desert (Qatar) for the last nine years.  This is an awesome looking mod.  However, I have been away from IL2 for a few months (Rise of Flight) and I can not install it.  May I suggest a read me?  Its nice that there are some instructions but when you say, "same as before"  you must be aware that a lot of us were not here for the "before".
Could someone please post a detailed account of where to put all the files that come with the S-199 download?  I beleive this would be a great addition to the mod.

Thanks all.

That's right. It is most worst 109 even flew.  Note from Wiki. "The Daimler-Benz DB 605 engine allowed for a central cannon mount that fired through the propellor spinner. This was not possible with the Junkers Jumo 211, and so the S-199 used a version of the Luftwaffe's Rüstsatz VI modification kit, which consisted of a pair of MG 151 cannon mounted beneath the wings. This further impinged on the aircraft's performance. A final hidden danger lay in the synchronization gear for the cowl-mounted MG 131 machine guns, which did not work as it was meant to, leading a few Israeli aircraft to shoot off their own propellers."

Israeli agents negotiated the purchase of Avia S-199s from the Czechoslovak government in defiance of an arms embargo that Israel faced at the time. 25 aircraft were obtained and all but two were eventually delivered. The price for a fully equipped plane was $190.000.[2] The first examples arrived on May 20, 1948, six days after Israel's declaration of independence and five days after the commencement of hostilities by Egypt. They were assembled and sent into combat for the first time on May 29, attacking the Egyptian army between Isdud and the current Ad Halom bridge, south of Tel Aviv. This was the first action of 101 Squadron IAF. The type proved unreliable and performed poorly in combat. One Avia pilot remarked "she tried to kill us on every take off and landing."[citation needed] Furthermore, maintenance problems meant that no more than five were typically airworthy at any one time. The type, however, scored victories over its opponents, including the Spitfire. [3] The Avias were mostly withheld from service by the end of October, at which time only six remained operational. The S-199 continued making sporadic sorties through mid-December; American pilot Wayne Peake flipped one on its back on December 15.

Has anybody tried the campaign yet? I can't continue after the second mission, although the patches are installed. If I push the 'Apply' button after mission two, the campaign (not the whole Il-2) crashes.

I don't understand this, I had this installed and working on a previous install but a new install today with the same mod pack with DiffFM and the latest buttons throws up a 60% crash, putting // infront of S-199 in the air.ini solves the crash and it starts up, quite frustrating.

Edit: Sorted it out, the file structure needed modifying slightly. Does anyone have the 3d update that is above? The link is dead.

This is a great looking plane with the new skin pack.   Just for anyones info I succeeded in installing this directly into the UP2.1 FILES folder without a MOD folder (as me and the MOD folder don't get on!) and it works perfectly but you have to know where each bit goes because of the special FM file.  If anyone needs any info on this let me know. :)
