I-16 side door open

Hi folks,

Does anyone here know if there is a mod to open the side doors on the I-16 in IL2 1946 ?

I searched but didn't see anything. Any insight is appreciated.

AFAIK there is no such a mod available.
But as he did a lot of mods with open canopies etc send Guzknife a PM and ask him,
maybe he is interested to do this or even does have something WIP.

I may shot Guzknife a PM. For some reason I thought I saw a mod out there that added this option, maybe a part of a larger mod.

Cabin I-16 and other aircraft cabins requires 3ds mesh editing.Unfortunately I don't know how to do it. :(

No worries on the I-16. For some reason I thought there was something already out there. Your work on canopies and other things is very much appreciated !!!!

I wish I had some skills and time to do what you do.

You don't say what you want the i-16 for.....
If you want it for a diorama I suppose you could set the plane up where you want it and bail out.......

 








Pilot & discarded door disappear after a few seconds...... :D

That's an interesting point. I didn't even think of that. Actually, my reason for wanting the side door to be open is for immersion prior to take off and after landing.

I admit it's a very minor thing. I am not officially requesting this by the way - just was asking if anyone new of a mod for it.

I like to open the side hatches on planes when I land (Fokker DXX1, MC 200 ( Canopy sides open mod) ) in order to complete the immersion. I sometimes take a screenshot after a mission and on rare occasion even try to draw or replicate a seen. Sounds kind of funny I guess.

Actually a little eye candy I appreciate in BOM , that little door. Give a sense of immersion. Not sure it would fall off like it does in 100 km/H like it does if it is forgotten. But something I did not think of while flying IL 2. It is a feature that should be very welcomed if made
