Thanks for the links! I've been looking at those the past several days. I understand now why someone would want to build a machine versus buying a pre-built, but it seems that for the prices of any given combination of parts, there is always a pre-built for less money.

I like the $900 build example, but it doesn't appear to have anything that this Lenovo doesn't, apart from the GTX 960, which I don't really have a problem with given the decent price for the whole thing.

This Lenovo has an I7-6700 processor and that part by itself is selling for more than $300! The GTX 960 from a brief look is around $200 by itself, and that puts it already at too much money for me to afford good parts for the rest of the build. Of course I'm not doubting what anyone has said here, but in this particular case, can someone tell me what specific advantage there is to building a desktop similar to this Lenovo if it might even cost more money? Is the Lenovo a better choice for my price range?

I realize this topic is many years old, but I have a similar question/issue and thought I might add it here instead of starting a new topic.

I have a 5-6 year old laptop (Lenovo Thinkpad, CPU - Intel Core i7-6500U @ 2.50GHz, 8GB Ram, and then the following display adapters (screen below).

I have searched for posts on this site and have modified my conf.ini file as below. I have also set the IL2 application for high performance but I still cannot get "Perfect" landscape detail or trees to be more realistic. I am using the VP Modpack for 4.12.

Perhaps the AMD card I have is not enough, or maybe the adapters are conflicting? - Any advice is appreciated. - Thanks - jg1234

Most likely you will need only to roll back your AMD drivers to version 21.12.1:

I never even thought of that. I am in the process of trying to do that now. Every time I uninstall the newer AMD driver and software and restart, my system automatically installs the latest driver. I have stopped Windows from updating drivers automatically but still am getting the 182 error.

Once I got this sorted out I am hopeful this will all work and will post back.

Just following up that I got this to work and now have "Perfect" set. In my case I forgot to use the AMD software to run the il2 executable in gaming mode. I also think the rolling back the driver helped.
