Fixing the Bf-109K-4's insignia
« on: November 05, 2016, 04:11:39 PM »

Would it be possible to change the German national markings on the Bf-109K-4 to those like on the G-10?
The K-4 now has black outlined Balken's on the fuselage and under the wings, and an all black Haken on the tail, which is both historically inacurate and goes very badly with the default skin (and other skins), in reality almost all K-4's had a white outlined cross on the fuselage, a black Haken with white outlines, and either a black cross with white outlines under the wings, or a black cross with no outlines.

best regards

A couple years back ago you could have used ''Mat Manager v2.36'', however it isn't designed for 4.11 upwards, I tried it on 4.12.2 and I got nowhere, it works on 4.10.1 UP3 and downward.  ;D

Usually on modded installs the basic Hakenkreuz and stencil crosses are heavily altered to their historical alignment with later German fighters. The Fw-190 has it as well, from the 39-44 Haken to the spray stencil 44-45 Haken. It just goes with advancing camouflage and markings to lessen visibility at low or high altitudes. And also hurried production numbers. Let alone running out of paint.  :-X

All the best.

I was just thinking that changing the set of Luftwaffe markings on the K-4 would be a matter of maybe just modding one file.
Also, you can see from this photo of a K-4 being assembled in a Waldwerk close to Regensburg at the end of the war, that even the very last manufactured K-4's had a black Haken with a white outline, as well as the white fuselage cross.
