Kikka Help-Solved
« on: November 24, 2016, 12:25:11 AM »

As I'm sure everyone is aware the Kikka has an issue where in it likes to " Submarine " below the hard deck rather than crash into it. CWatson and myself have made numerous attempts to resolve the issue but to date it has eluded us.  :(

If it would be possible for one of the more knowledge members to take a look at it and see if a fix is possible it would be a big help.

Thanks in advance,

Lone Wolf

Hi Lone Wolf (+CW),

That's a Clip thing.
Your plane has several hooks, some of them have special meaning (like Nav lights, gear clips, engine smoke and flames etc.), some are just named "_Clip" with a two-digit number following behind.
Lisek posted a list of clips here: https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,14387.msg152693.html#msg152693

The "_Clip<xx>" hooks are responsible for all kind of object collision, including ground collision, so all bigger parts of your plane should have a Clip hook where it could collide with something else - that can be many clip hooks per mesh.

There's a rule to the "_Clip<xx>" hooks that says that they always have to be in a row without gaps inbetween.
The game will simply ignore any Clip behind a gap, so make sure there aren't any.
For instance if you have _Clip00 through _Clip03 for your turbine blades and _Clip04 through _Clip39 thereafter, and then proceed with _Clip41 through _Clip95, all clips following no. 39 will be ignored.

Best regards - Mike

I think a little more detail has to be added concerning the issue.

The mod itself is based on a Me262. When a 262 mesh, let say the CF_D0 is imported and merged with the Kikka's max scene, the clips and hooks are unlinked from the 262's CF_D0, the main mesh is deleted, leaving the clips and hooks.

Hooks and clips are then linked to the Kikka's CF_D0 and repositioned to match the Kikka's shape. Once this is done it needs to be exported. It seems the clips and hooks if linking with the Kikka's mesh are not exporting with the mesh.

Thanks for the info Mike it proved to be invaluable.  :)

After reading through your info and CW's post I was able to discover that a few of the hooks from the donor Me-262B-1a had been remed out. So needless to say when I imported the meshes from the donor aircraft  they got omitted and that was a major oversight on my part. :-[

A lesson well learned though that won't be repeated ;)

Thanks again,
