This is one of those maps (like Poland) that we really needed from a long time!
Thank you very much, Ag, good work! :)

Please don't forget, the hard work of populating and fixing all the mistakes with roads and airfields and such, that credit goes to the Czech Virtual Squadron ... they did a good job of coordinating everything and finishing the job.

And they came up with the idea for the map in the first place ...

Need I do something different for this map if my setup is only SAS, no UP or HFSX?
It loaded and came up fine in FMB (and LOOKS ABSOLUTELY GREAT!) but I'm unable to save missions.
Any ideas where I went wrong?

Uhhh ... it is either 1/1 or a teensy bit smaller. Normally I use 1pixel = 50m in Microdem for the map creation, which is 1/1 for an Il-2 map.

But sometimes the area can be so large that Microdem memory can't handle the translation into full sized DEMs. Then I choose 1pixel = 55m, which is almost negligible a difference (except for the memory in Microdem apparently).

Since it is such a large area I would surmise that I used 1pixel=55m, so it could be a bit smaller than 1/1 ... but not by much ...

First, thanks all involved for this. Second, keep in mind that th Il-2 world is square, so there is no such thing as 1:1 with a round earth. Your scale may even be slightly more realistic.

Yeah me too, any help for us non UP users - it looks as if this is the same problem I had with Cannons Channel map when there were some objects in the map that I didn't have.....

I didn't do the populating on this one, but I would guess it's one of the Usual Suspects as culprit - Canons Channel Objects Mod, lal_Rones Fortification mod -hangar mod ... one of those.

Try out checking what you are missing with the static.ini checker ... usually generates a list of objects that are in the map, but not in your own static.ini.

That can give you an idea what you're missing. Ask here where those objects can be found. Someone will usually recognize them...

Here's a link for the static.ini checker:

And a link for Cannon's Channel Objects - the objects only, NOT his map:

THANK YOU AT ALL THE MAPS BUILDERS :-*

several important airfields are missing :-[
like the Lahn Bihoue (near Lorient)
Pluguffan (near Quimper)
Dinan Trelivan
or Tremuson (near Saint Brieuc)

and Le mont Saint-Michel:P

NB: it is not "Ploermet" but "Ploermel"
not "Carentec" but "Carantec"
the Breizhoneg (Little Britain language) is difficult!

I have got Cannons working after chasing my tail looking for the objects when it first came out ....  :(

I also have the hangar and fortification mods   ... so was a little surprised when this happened. It must be somthing that is in the UP (as I don't use that - just a patched and SAS Mod version).

I will check with the static ini checker though - many thanks for pointing me to it.

the Breizhoneg (Little Britain language) is difficult!

It's easy to edit the names. All you need do is open the 'texts.txt' file in the map folder with any simple text editor (notepad will work fine) and then correct the mistaken spellings with the correct spellings. Save as if a txt file (which it is!) and voila, when next the map is loaded, you'll have the correct spellings ...

The texts.tx file is in itself a bit small and insignificant to give a separate update for ...

As for airfields - I suppose choices were made ... there are already a good number of fields on the map and making airfields is a bit of painstaking job ...

Here is the results of the static ini checker

Missing objects in your static.ini:

buildings.House$semi2.... etc

Edited by GJE52 to save space ....

to...
buildings.Plate$Rennes15
buildings.Plate$Rennes14

That is a serious collection of missing bits - have I missed an update somewhere - any ideas ?
