One question regarding logs
« on: December 14, 2016, 10:14:05 PM »

Excuse me, everyone.

I recently installed everything that relates to the Community Universal Patch, but when I started the "Dawn of Flight" module, everything seemed alright in the main menu, but when I went to the quick mission builder (or "QMB," for short), it would not take me there. Instead, it would freeze to the point where I have to close the program with Task Manager. The same thing happened to me when I loaded the "World at War" module in the past. So, I have a question. How do I post logs for freezing problems like the one that I mentioned? I wish to know. Thanks.

cant you just do a search in the CUP tech help section for "QMB freeze" or something?

Read how to get the log here, and the instant log here.

Important: read here which part(s) from the log to post
and how to post it. (code option!)

And as VP said .. search through the CUP tech help boards; it is very likely someone else encountered this problem already ;)

Best Regards,

Quick Mission Builder Lockup is due to the file - Il2...Quicks/.last.quick. - Introduced by Team Daidalos, .last.quick. effectively breaks QMB if you change planelists.

ie: if you have been flying a different era and now start another era.  .last.quick. remembers your last mission, tries to load it automatically with the QMB start - you are now in a different era though and TD only does WWII, so bang, plane not found, lockup, stuck, everything dead, very annoying.  We have been working on fixes for this TD feature/Bug:  It seems that retaining a common aircraft to all planelists and writing a .last.quick. as a read-only file may put us on the right track.  I will really try to get this fix out very soon.

Meanwhile: always look for and delete .last.quick. if you intend to use QMB. We suggest making a shortcut for this purpose.

I see those instructions of yours quite clearly. I tried it out, and when I tested out the "World at War" module, it worked perfectly. Thank you for the instructions, Monty. Hopefully, I will keep it in mind whenever I try to go to "Quick Mission Builder."
