Slikk's MEGA Cockpit Mod v2

Slikk's MEGA Cockpit Mod v2

This mod consists of several cockpits that have been made to render better. There was also work done on some of the textures for all of the cockpits in this mod as well.

When I started working on this mod my initial goal was to try and get the cockpits to render better. In my game I use TIR with 6DoF plus POV mods as well and I was always bothered by the way the game draws the dials and gauges in the cockpit as you move your head around in it. This is kind of hard to explain, but the rendering effect that I am talking about is most noticeable if you are in higher resolution cockpits. If you use TIR with 6DoF you should see a difference when moving around in the cockpit now. Your perception of what you are looking at in the cockpit will change as you move around, but for the most part you won’t see the game constantly drawing the dials and gauges as you move around in the cockpit. This has a more natural feel IMHO.

NOTE: If you do not use TIR with 6DoF, the rendering part of the mod will have very little effect.

Several other textures were added as well as some additional fixes and tweaks to the cockpits. I also put a lot of work into the way the gauges look. They have a more transparent shiny glass look to them now.

NOTE: If you would like to use only the rendering portion of this mod but keep the textures that you already have for existing cockpits in your game, just copy the .mat files from this mod into the existing cockpits folder and it should work. Be sure and make a backup just in case.

New in MEGA Cockpit Mod v2:

1: The P-40, F4F, and SBD cockpits were tweaked to look better at night.
2: The Spitfire cockpits were missing a file that prevented them from showing up in game. This has now been fixed.
3: The F6F cockpits were missing a file that prevented the the gauge glass from showing up in game. This has now been fixed.
4: Added new rendering effect and glossy gauges to the P-51 cockpits.
5: Added new rendering effect and projector lens to the A6M cockpits.

There is no Readme file that comes with this mod, but installation is pretty straight forward.

To Install:

1: Extract
2: Click on the folder that you have just extracted.
3: After you are inside the extracted folder, Copy and paste the cockpit folder into your mods folder.
4: Run your game.

Additional textures or original repaints:
Tyrl, JAMF, Fly_zo, Der Wüstenfuchs, NWD, FlushMeister, Avala, Poncho, and Taurus

As this is a moving mod, you will have to see this in game to get the full picture. In the mean time here are a few pics.

Enjoy!

If I understand you correctly, this is how you would do it.

Example: Say you want to use the tail gunner from v1 of the Avengers. Follow these steps.
1: Click on the -[Old Tail Gunner]
2: inside this folder you will see another folder named, (He-111H-2-BGun) copy this folder to...
SAS_Avengers_V2\3do\Cockpit and paste it here.
3: Go back to the -[Old Tail Gunner] folder and copy the class file (8B981A1696645EA6) to the SAS_Avengers_V2 folder.
4: run your game and you should now see your new tail gunner. Good luck!

Establishing cockpits P-51 has noticed one thing, cockpits P-51B and P-51C are established normally, and cockpits for series P51D are not established and now at inclusion of these planes I do not see cabins, and I see the sky. In what a problem?

rien56 and oleg1114 - if you guys are having problems, please remember we can't really help you much unless you provide some info as to which version of the game you are using, which modversion, which mods, etc...
@rein56, saying it doesn't work is not much use to us....what exactly happens when you try to use these?
for oleg1114, you most likely have a conflict with some other P-51 mod. please make sure that you don't have any other mods installed that use the P-51 cockpit/gunsights, etc...

Hi,  I am on DBW 1.6 and since I put on UP3 thr Hurricane Mk2 gauges have been missing.  I used this mod as I thought it might get around this problem. I have dropped it in jsgmemods folder and enabled it but the Mk1 cockpit seems no different and the white squares are still there on the Mk2's gauges.
