I would like to point out some little problems with these airplane files.
Do not worry, it is not difficult to fix.
It is not a big problem, but one which can be fixed by each person using their downloaded version. I am not going to
post the entire airplane files with the fixes because they are too many, and it is easy to fix by everyone.
The problem is with the [LightParams] lines written on the files.
Some have values which are too high and makes the skins and airplane 3d-modeling parts have a super shiny effect
when the sun shines on the airplane.
It also makes it shine too much in very low light (sunset) and makes the airplane parts look like it has "Radioactive Shine".
The easy and simple fix is this....
You will have to open each file (with NOTEPAD) inside the \3do\Plane\IL-28(Multi1) folder,
and change the following written lines, to this....
[LightParams]
Ambient 1.0
Diffuse 1.0
Specular 0.2
SpecularPow 4
Shine 0.0
.............................................................
The 2 important written lines to look for are the
Specular 0.2
SpecularPow 4
These 2 lines should never be more than the number values of "Specular 0.4" and "SpecularPow 4".
If they are too high a number, for example 8 or 16, it will make certain parts of the 3d-model and
the skin it will use, to shine too bright.
While other areas of the airplane will look "normal" because the
files for those areas of the airplane 3d-model have the normal number values.
So , what I have found is that many files have above normal numbered values, while other files
have lower numbers. I suggest to make ALL files have the same number values as I wrote above or
you can make them like this...
[LightParams]
Ambient 1.0
Diffuse 1.0
Specular 0.4
SpecularPow 4
Shine 0.0
.............................................................
By writing these values on all files with the same "LightParams" you will see a nicer looking airplane flying.
This also goes for the files inside the "cockpit" folder. Some parts inside the cockpit 3d-modeling have number values
which are too high. So keep all the number values to a normal shine.
Otherwise, you may be flying a very good 3d-model airplane, and use a very good painted skin, but it still looks a little weird because
some parts do not look the same.
This tip I suggest can also be used on ALL other airplanes you have in your game.
If you take the time to change these number values on all the airplane files, you will see a very good looking game
and much better looking airplanes flying in your skies.
